Re: How to apply for MS?

Dear friend,
For MS you have to clear any one of the exam.
1.GRE (graduate record exam)
2.TOEFL (test of English as a foreign language).

how to apply and pattern of GRE or TOEFL??

about GRE
pattern of exam
The test has three distinct sections :
Writing Assessment (WA),
Quantitative, and
Verbal.

The Quantitative section has Problem Solving questions, which test your mathematical skills and concepts of roughly the high-school level.
The Verbal Section has four types of questions : Antonyms, Analogies, Reading Comprehension, and Sentence Completion.
The questions of each type appear in no set sequence. There are a total of 58 questions, 28 in Quantitative and 30 in Verbal.

About TOEFL
pattern of exam:-
The test has four sections: Listening, Structure, Reading and Writing.
Section-1.30 - 50 questions (40 - 60 min).
Section-2.20 - 25 questions (15 - 20 min)
section-3.44 - 60 questions(70 - 90 min).
Section-4. 1 Essay (30 min).

How to register in TOEFL or GRE?-
There are three ways to register:

Registering by Phone: You may call up parametric office until 12:00 noon to register. Make sure to call at least THREE BUSINESS DAYS before the test date.

Registering by Fax: If registering by fax, you must send your fax at least SEVEN DAYS prior to your first choice of a test day.

Registering by Mail/Courier: Fill in the form, get the draft made (if you are not paying by credit card), and submit these to the Parametric Centre either by hand or by registered post/courier. You must send the documents at least THREE WEEKS before your choice of a test day.

Thanks

As you have not specified in which country do you want to pursue MS so its little bit difficult to suggest you any exam but still mostly all countries accept GRE scores along with english proficiency test. Some of the countries like canada , australia etc. only requires IELTS bands.

Dear Aspirant,

To get a MS in foreign university you need to write the following exams:

GRE

TOEFL

IELTS

So by writing these three exams. If you get a good score. You can get admission in any college from the world.

IF you want to take admission from US then IELTS can be a option choice.Mostly the GRE and TOEFL are taken into consideration for admissions.

Only few top colleges ask for IELTS in the US.So most probably the GRE and TOEFL are the score asked through out the world.

so if you get a good score in the GRE then am sure you will get a good college.

After getting the score you need to send a cover letter for the chosen universities and also you need to show your bank balance(upto 20Lakhs).

Then only you can get a i20 and then you can apply for a VISA then you can get into that college.

Good luck.

Hope this info helps you.

All the best for your future endeavor's.

HELLO SIR........

I think go for doing the MS course after completing your B.E or

you can attempt when your in the fourth year itself.

You should attend for both the GRE and TOEFL exams to secure a seat in America,Singapore..etc,

The test consists mainly on English which will test your quantitative aptitude.

BEST OF LUCK !!!!!!!!!!

Re: How to apply for MS?

Hai,
You cannot apply for Masters in US without
taking GRE and TOEFL.
The popular intake for
international students in Fall (Aug/Sept) The
tuition can range from $35,000-$55,000 for 2
years of Education.
You have to write GRE for pursuing MS .
The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is a
standardized test that is an admissions
requirement for many graduate schools in the
United States,[1] in other English-speaking
countries and for English-taught graduate and business programs world-wide.
The GRE General Test is offered as a computer-based, computer adaptive exam administered by
selected qualified testing centers; however,
paper-based exams are offered in areas of the
world where computer-based testing is not
available. It is a very good option after B.tech for PG studies
abroad at world recognized universities

So, please clear the TOLEF and GRE entrance exams, to get admission in MS course.

Re: How to apply for MS?

In order to apply to the Master's degree program in the US you maybe required to complete 16 years of undergraduate education. The 16th year requirement now varies from university to university. A few schools in the US may accept students with 15 years of prior education, thus accepting the 3 year Indian Bachelor's degree. However, in most cases, students have to complete 16 years of education. Generally the 16th year of education can be one year of a two year Master's degree from a recognized university. Please check with each individual university you are applying to if they will accept your application without the 16th year.

Please study the Masters degree program in Food Science or Human Nutrition offered by UIUC, and Masters degree in Microbiology offered by Southern Illinois University.

A Ready Reckoner :
A successful entry into a U.S. based M.S. needs a lot of meticulous planning in advance. This information is primarily meant for engineering graduates. If you have decided to do an M.S. after your B.E., you should start preparing right from the second year. A typical schedule would look like this:

Second year of B.E.
- Have a passport ready or apply for one
- Gather enough study material and information on GRE, TOEFL etc.
- Start preparing from the fourth semester itself.

Third year of B.E.
- Book your GRE, TOEFL dates sometime during July with the TOEFL date lagging GRE by a week.
- Decide on the program (area of interest) and the universities based on various factors.
- Take your GRE and TOEFL between your sixth and seventh semester.

Final year of B.E.
- Based on your GRE and TOEFL scores, start applying to your chosen universities before December (during your seventh semester).
- After you receive admits, decide which university you are going to join.
- After you receive your I-20, get all other documents ready. Also block your airline ticket through a travel agent.
- This is also the time for applying for an educational loan or scholarship.

Post B.E.
- Book for a visa date sometime during June (before the last week).
- Keep your fingers crossed!
- After getting the visa, Take an student insurance and get other materials ready.

Aditya from Chennai Asks: I am in second year engineering. Is it too early to prepare for these exams or is it the apt time.
Dear Aditya, Thanks a lot for asking query. As a expert I believe that getting a perfect score in GRE takes time. Studying abroad is not a 2-3 years affairs, It is going to impact your career in longer term. I think this absolutely right time to start.

Is studying abroad an expensive affair?
“Seeing ourselves as others see us-- and ultimately, perhaps, as we are is something not easy to do at home. Put another way, fish never know they are wet, because they lack the contrast of air. “ If you wish to share above thoughts, you have to persistently working for Scholarships and Financial Aid. Re: How to apply for MS?

Hello,

You can write your GRE OR GMAT or TOEFL exam in your last year itself.

These three exam are very useful in doing MS abroad.Doing MS outside gives you scholarship and has better scope for job.

So prepare well and you can write in your final year.
