Re: How to apply for MS?
Dear friend,
if you are interested in doing MS, then you will have to write the GRE(graduate record exam) after your B.E. This Gre exam can be written even as you are studying your B.E.;may be in the final year itself. then, based on your GRE score, which will also take into account your graduation score and your extra curricular activities like the paper presentation, you can choose the universities in USA, Canada, Singapore etc. also, after attending GRE, you need to write even TOEFL (test of english as a foreign language) too and its marks are also added. note that the pattern of gre is going to change and it would come into effect from august 2011. its better if you write gre in the current old pattern itself. you may need to take up coaching for gre, that you can do by attending your nearest coaching centre. else prefer TIME institute, the pioneer in CAT coaching, which are also quite good with GRE. else you can also do an online coaching with GREedge.com. all the very best. God bless you. |

Re: How to apply for MS?
Hi!
I am describing here the minimum qualifications and procedure for admission to MS Program at IIT, Delhi. In most of the institute the admission process is almost the same. Eligibility criteria: For direct admission to MS without test/interview the candidate most hold a B.E./ B.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent degree with 75% marks or 8.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale. For admission to MS through test/interview the candidate most hold a B.E./ B.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent degree with 60% marks or 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point scale. Qualifying exam: For admission to the MS course a GATE score of more than 300 or qualifying score whichever is higher will be considered. Admission procedure: Admission to MS programme is carried out by first short-listing the eligible candidates (meeting the minimum performance in their qualifying degree) and scoring above a GATE cutoff specified for that programme and then interviewing them at IIT Delhi. |

Re: How to apply for MS?
In order to apply to the Master's degree program in the US you maybe required to complete 16 years of undergraduate education. The 16th year requirement now varies from university to university. A few schools in the US may accept students with 15 years of prior education, thus accepting the 3 year Indian Bachelor's degree. However, in most cases, students have to complete 16 years of education. Generally the 16th year of education can be one year of a two year Master's degree from a recognized university. Please check with each individual university you are applying to if they will accept your application without the 16th year.
Please study the Masters degree program in Food Science or Human Nutrition offered by UIUC, and Masters degree in Microbiology offered by Southern Illinois University. |

Re: How to apply for MS?
You have to write GRE for pursuing MS .
The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for many graduate schools in the United States,[1] in other English-speaking countries and for English-taught graduate and business programs world-wide. The GRE General Test is offered as a computer-based, computer adaptive exam administered by selected qualified testing centers; however, paper-based exams are offered in areas of the world where computer-based testing is not available. It is a very good option after B.tech for PG studies abroad at world recognized universities. For preparation of this exam refer : Barron's New GRE: The Leader In Test Preparation (With CD-ROM) (Paperback) by Sharon Weiner Green, Ira K. Wolf Publisher: Barron's Educational Series (Jul 2011) Price: Rs.1756 |
