MY B.tech will complete in september 2018 but at that I will 24 but C.D.S.E age limits are 19-23. Can I apply in intermediate or during my 3rd year of B.tech or any age relaxation for me. I belongs to OBC community. Please send neccesary in formation on [email protected]

The Union Public Service Commission Conducts the Combined Defense Services Exams two times in a year.

Through the CDS Examination , the candidates who want to join Indian Defense can fulfill their dream through joining any of the following wings :


1) Indian Militant Academy

2) Officers Training Academy

3) Indian Air Force

4) Naval Academy


There is no any percentage required in graduation for CDS Examination as the educational qualification required is just graduation from any recognized college/university.

Now the Age Limit For CDS Exam is :

1) Indian Militant Academy : 19 - 24 years

2) Officers Training Academy : 19 - 24 years

3) Indian Air Force : 19 - 23 years

4) Naval Academy : 19 - 22 years

Eligibility for CDS exam:-

For Indian Military Academy:-
1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade..
2.Age should be in between 19-24 years.
3.Candidate must be physically fit.

For Naval academy:-
1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field with 60% aggregate.
2.Age should be in between 19-22 years.
3.Candidate must be physically fit.

For Air force academy:-
1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade but must have had maths and physics in 12th.

These are the eligibility criteria to apply for CDS exam in different section.

As you know that the Combined Defence Service Exam or the CDS is conducted by the UPSC twice a year.

The minimum eligibility for appearing for the CDS exam is that a candidate must be graduate from a recognized university.
Students in the final year of graduation may also apply.

Age Limit:

For Indian Military academy - 19 to 23 years.

For Indian Air Force Academy - 19 to 23 years.

For Officer's Training Academy - 19 to 25 years.

For Naval Academy - 19 to 22 years.

The education qualification for UPSC CDS exam is:

1. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy-Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.

And the age limit is:

Candidates successful in the written exam are then called for an interview by a Services Selection Board which evaluates a candidate's suitability for a career in the Indian Armed Forces. The SSB interview lasts for approximately a week, during which a candidate undergoes various physical and psychological tests to ascertain whether or not he is officer material. Candidates cleared by the SSB are finally admitted into the above mentioned academies, and after successful completion of training, they are inducted into the armed forces.

For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1990 (2nd January, 1988 in case of NCC Naval Wing ‘C’ certificate holders) and not later than 1st January 1993 only are eligible

For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1989 and not later than 1st January, 1993 only are eligible

For Officers Training Academy (SSC course for Men): Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd January, 1987 and not later than 1st January, 1993 only are eligible

For Officers Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical course): Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcess (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born but not earlier than 2nd January, 1987 and not later than 1st January, 1993
Educational qualifications

For Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent

For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering

For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering

Candidates who are studying in final year degree course and have yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can apply for the examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination or equivalent examination by the specified dates published in commission’s notice for the examination

Combined Defence Service Examination (CDSE) is conducted twice in a year
by the UPSC. This exam is conducted for the admission in Indian Army,

Have any age relaxation to NCC candidates after B.Sc, who have got C certificate in B grade and have any reserved quota for NCC candidates. Please clarify the same.

and the you should have at least 50% aggregate marks.

I have recently heard in the news that the permenant commission of the Indian Army has also been introduced for women. Is that correct????? And if yes, then what is the procedure for a woman to enter the Indian Army via permenant commission?????

The age should be between 20-30 years. Ofcourse there is relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Also one should have minimum of 50% marks in 10th and Intermidiate.
