Friend age limit for the exam is, 21-30 years and relaxation for SC/ST and OBC.

and the you should have at least 50% aggregate marks.

The age should be between 20-30 years. Ofcourse there is relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Also one should have minimum of 50% marks in 10th and Intermidiate.

I have recently heard in the news that the permenant commission of the Indian Army has also been introduced for women. Is that correct????? And if yes, then what is the procedure for a woman to enter the Indian Army via permenant commission?????

Eligibility for CDS examination


1) Educational Qualifications:

a) For IMA /OTA : A degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

b) For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.

c) For Air Force Academy: B.Sc. of a recognized University or equivalent with Physics and/or Mathematics as subjects or Bachelor of Engineering.

2) Age:

a) For IMA: Unmarried male candidates between 19-24 years on 1st January or 1st July of the year succeeding the year of examination.

b) For Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates between 19-22 years on 1st January or 1st July of the year succeeding; the year of examination.

c) For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidates between 19-23 years on 1st January or 1st July of the year succeeding the year of examination.

d) For Officers Training Academy: Male candidates (married or unmarried) between 19-25 years on 1st January or 1st July of the year succeeding the year of examination.

The education qualification for UPSC CDS exam is:

Air Force Academy ( AFA ) : This is applicable for male candidates only but marital status is not a concern. They should be born not earlier than 2nd Jan 1987 & not later than 1st Jan 1993. These candidates must have a degree from a recognized university or are Bachelor of Engineering with Physics and Chemistry Mathematics at 12th std. Should be medically fit.

The candidate must not have born before 2nd Jan 1987 or later than 1st Jan 1993. In education, they should have a Degree from a recognized university.

As you know that the Combined Defence Service Exam or the CDS is conducted by the UPSC twice a year.

The minimum eligibility for appearing for the CDS exam is that a candidate must be graduate from a recognized university.
Students in the final year of graduation may also apply.

Age Limit:

For Indian Military academy - 19 to 23 years.

For Indian Air Force Academy - 19 to 23 years.

For Officer's Training Academy - 19 to 25 years.

For Naval Academy - 19 to 22 years.

which criteria is more important for the final selection of the candidates for the cds ?
1.marks obtained by the candidates in graduation,or
2.The performance by the cadidate in those 5 days for ssb,gd,gt etc.

Now im working as a Station Master in Southern Railway... My age is 28..

For IMA-18 to 23 years

Eligibility for CDS exam:-

For Indian Military Academy:-
1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade..
2.Age should be in between 19-24 years.
3.Candidate must be physically fit.

For Naval academy:-
1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field with 60% aggregate.
2.Age should be in between 19-22 years.
3.Candidate must be physically fit.

For Air force academy:-
1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade but must have had maths and physics in 12th.
2.Age should be in between 19-23 years.
3.Candidate must be physically fit.

These are the eligibility criteria to apply for CDS exam in different section.

CDS - Combined Defence Service

~•> To apply for CDS Examination only graduation is the minimum Requirement, there is no percentage is required to apply for CDS Examination, Union Public service commission conducts the CDSE Examination, twice in a year for recruitment to office cadre of the Army, Navy and Air force. To apply for this examination you must have be Degree of a recognised university with Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subjects or you have to complete your Engineering degree course. Final year appearing candidates are also eligible to apply for CDS Examination.

To apply for CDS Examination, your age should between 19 to 25 years and the age vary from Academy to Academy:

>> Indian Military Academy(IMA): 19-24 Years
>> Naval Academy: 19-22 Years
>> Air Force Academy: 19-23 Years
>> Officers’ Training Academy(OTA): 19-25 Years
