Re: Can we give GATE exam in consecutive years? Dear Friends, Yes, you can appear GATE as many times. There is no such restriction. If your score is not good enough you should try next year. 6-7 months thorough preparation is sufficient for scoring an outstanding score in GATE. So, if you are dropping this year for GATE preparation then give your 100% effort in the preparation so that you can get the best possible college. Re: Can we give GATE exam in consecutive years? On the basis of GATE score, you will be given admission in a particular institute. Yes. One can appear for the GATE exam in consecutive years. But in order to appear for the exam, you should have completed your Bachelors degree in Engineering. There is no such limit on the number of attempts for GATE exam. You can appear for the GATE exam as many times as you wanted. Once you appear for the GATE exam, that particular GATE score is valid for a period of 2 years. So, prepare well for the GATE exam and attempt well and get admission in good college. |

One can attempt for the GATE exam for any number of times. GATE score is valid for a period of 2 years. You can use the GATE score for a period of 2 years. In order to be eligible for GATE exam, one must have a graduation degree of 4 years course or Engineering. There is no age limitation to appear for GATE exam. Prepare well for the exam and crack the exam. |

There is no limitation in number of attempts.... you can sit for GATE as many times as you want. so don't worry about that. But your GATE score will be valid for 2 years. that means if you sit for GATE 3 consecutive years, then your last 2 years GATE card will be valid. The first GATE card will not be accepted, after 2 years. |

Ofcourse you can go for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) as many times to improve your score.GATE is an annual entrance examination for admission to Post Graduation/PhD courses in Engineering and Architecture across IITs and many other institutes in India for the aspirants ----> Eligibility criteria: Candidates with following qualifications are eligible for GATE: · Bachelor’s degree in engineering/architecture/technology. · Master’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent · Qualifications equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AME by ICE(I)) -----> This time for the candidates applying for Textile Engineering & Fibre Science and Mining Engineering there will be an online examination while for others it will be normal paper based test. ----> Pattern of Examination: GATE Entrance test is of 3 hours consisting of 65 objective type questions carrying 100 marks. Every question has 4 choices. There is negative marking also for a wrong answer. GATE EXAM is for those meritorious students who want to take admission to MTECH programme in good colleges in India including IIT's. it happens once a year. However, it could be a disadvantage if you have no any work experience after engineering. It is ok if you drop one year after B.Tech. for preparation of GATE but someone is dropping 5 year after B.Tech. and he/she did neither job nor studies in that period then it reflects a negative point. The negative point doesn't mean that you will not be eligible for the exam, it means that you will get problems in Interview marks. Also, persons with work experience and freshers are preferred. Those who are neither fresher nor having work experience are less preferred. So if you are attempting more than two three years try to get a job according to your academic profile. the GATE eligibility for general candidate is given below 1.minimum graduation in engineering. final year & prefinal year btech students are allowed to attain in the gate exam. 2.after msc doing msc. students are also eligibile to attain in the gate exam. there have not any age limit to attain in the gate exam. so you can appear many time in your life and of course you can appear for the exam in consecutive years best wishes best wishes |

GATE Eligibility The candidates with following academic background are eligible to appear in GATE 2011 Examination: arrow Bachelor's degree holders Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. arrow Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. arrow Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology. arrow Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech.
