Yes, you can appear GATE as many times.

There is no such restriction. If your score is not good enough you should try next year.

6-7 months thorough preparation is sufficient for scoring an outstanding score in GATE.

So, if you are dropping this year for GATE preparation then give your 100% effort in

Yes you can give GATE in consecutive years as no number of attempts defined in GATE exam..

and gate marks are applicable for all colleges and it is valid for 2 years ..

Eligibility for GATE Exam:

• **either Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture
• **either Master degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications
• **either Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology

only these candidates can apply ..

• for Gate as there is no age limit
• and no number of attempts defined in GATE exam..

GATE Eligibility

The candidates with following academic background are eligible to appear in GATE 2011 Examination:

arrow Bachelor's degree holders Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

arrow Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

arrow Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.

arrow Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed Section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

You can write GATE exam as many time you want.

GATE score will be valid only for two years.

To get qualify in the exam,you should work at least 11 hours daily for 6 to 7 month,then you easily get good score in GATE exam.

dear friend,

here is no restriction to apply for GATE as per number of attempts to appear the exam.

You can apply for the exams as many times as you want to.

However, it could be a disadvantage if you have no any work experience after

engineering. It is ok if you drop one year after B.Tech. for preparation of GATE but

someone is dropping 5 year after B.Tech. and he/she did neither job nor studies in

that period then it reflects a negative point. The negative point doesn't mean that

you will not be eligible for the exam, it means that you will get problems in Interview

marks. Also, persons with work experience and freshers are preferred. Those who are

neither fresher nor having work experience are less preferred. So if you are attempting

more than two three years try to get a job according to your academic profile.


the GATE eligibility for general candidate is given below

1.minimum graduation in engineering.

final year & prefinal year btech students are allowed to attain in the gate exam.

2.after msc doing msc. students are also eligibile to attain in the gate exam.

there have not any age limit to attain in the gate exam.

so you can appear many time in your life and of course you can appear for the exam in consecutive years

GATE EXAM is for those meritorious students who want to take admission to
MTECH programme in good colleges in India including IIT's.

it happens once a year.

GATE score is valid for 2 years and if you thinks that you haven't score good
in previous year then you can give GATE exam again and can perform good
.There is no such restriction.

you can start appearing in gate from 3rd year onwards..,
as you will be having grip over more then half of the subjects that comes under GATE syllabus.........
and also the score of gate is valid for 2 years.

gate exam doesn't have any limit ,
you can appear as many time as you can
