Re: How to Become a Pilot in Indian Air Force?

Hello,

Yes your are on the right track to achieve your goal.NDA is the best platform for entry into the IAF.
You should prepare hard and well in subjects such as Mathematics, physics, GK, and current Affairs.
Mostly maths is CBSE based so you can prepare from books such as R.S.Agarwal and R.D.Sharma, they will be more than sufficient
For physics, you ca refer to arihant publication books.
For G.K and current affairs, i suggest that you use the latest edition of Pratiyogita Darpan books.
These books are easily available in all leading book stores near you.

After clearing The written exam, you have to prove yourself physically in the medical teat.
Your height and weight is good enough.
You need to be physically fit and you can go through regular endurance training.

All the Best!

Re: How to Become a Pilot in Indian Air Force?

After you join the Indian Air Force, we ensure that you increase your expertise and knowledge. We organise a number of training programs designed to help you gain proficiency as a pilot and tackle more responsibilities in related fields.

The following are some training programs organised for the Flying Branch:

Ab-Initio Pilots Course
Transport Conversion Course
Qualified Flying Instructors Course
Test Pilot Course
Flight Test Engineer Course
Pilot Attack Instructors Course
Fighter Combat Leader Course
Ab-Initio Pilots Course (Common for Fighter, Transport and Helicopter Streams)
Designed to train newly inducted cadets, this training program is conducted to impart basic flying training. All individuals who join the Flying Branch take this course for a year before specialising on Fighter, Helicopter and Transport aircraft.
Transport Conversion Course
The objective of this course is to prepare an officer-in-training to operate as pilot-in-command on a transport aircraft. This course provides support to enable the officer-in-training to handle initial conversion on a turbo-prop twin-engine transport aircraft.

Qualified Flying Instructors Course
After gaining expertise in the field, a pilot in the Indian Air Force can become a Flying Instructor. The objective of this course is to teach the methodology of imparting Flying Instructions on basic trainer aircraft. On completion of training, an experienced pilot is capable of preparing cadets for the Flying branch of the Indian Air Force.

Test Pilot Course
After relevant experience, a pilot can become Test Pilot. The purpose of this course is to train a skilled pilot to undertake developmental flight-testing of aircraft weapons, avionics and other related systems. The course provides pilots the necessary expertise to support evaluation and testing of various options before and after aircraft are selected for final induction into service.

Re: How to Become a Pilot in Indian Air Force?

Hi,
you are proceeding right. All u need is to focus mostly on mathematics because it is considered to be the most vital and tough part of NDA. Written ground is the most important part, rest is not as tough like written part is.

Second stage is medical ground:
Ur eye sight should necessarily be 6/6 both. No allergy and color blindness.
height should be in balance with weight i.e u need to gain atleast 4 kgs of weight according to ur 184 cms of height.

thank you.

Re: How to Become a Pilot in Indian Air Force?

dont get hesitated you are going really well. try to secure as much as possible. if you are called for ssc. then you will have to pass through some tests and general discussion and then on selection you can move according to your selected direction. good luck

Re: How to Become a Pilot in Indian Air Force?

Nothing dear you are going well.

As you said you are appearing for NDA, then nothing to worry just prepare well and score very well in entrance. As there is no such cutoff marks in NDA, only candidates scoring at lest 60% are called for SSB. It is common analysis being done from several years that general candidates having at least 550 score are called for SSB.

So, a good preparetion is very neccessary. Specially for Maths and General Studies. Maths is completely CBSE based, while for General Awareness portion books of Arihant Publication is best one. whereas for overall preparetion Guide of Arihant Publication and Ukar's Prakashan are the Best ones.

Whereas for your Height, Weight, and age all are perfect, but it will be better if your weight will be 3 - 5 kgs lesser, because it doesn't tally with your age.
