There is no limitation on attempts. you can join any good coaching classes to prepare for GATE exam. Though its not mandatory to join any coaching classes but coaching class would help you complete your preparation and would also cover all the topics on time. You would also have access to all the good material and mock test paper. Try to solve as many mock papers as possible All the best |

You can easily prepare for 2 years after B Tech and then sit for the GATE exam. Its basically organized by the IITs for the selection of candidates for Masters program in any discipline. So doesn't matter if you are giving 2 years are completing your B Tech. Best of Luck ! |

But as you have a backlog, you just need to submit , >a copy of the marks sheet of final semester / final year >or a copy of the course completion certificate >or a letter from the principal indicating that you had a backlog and will be completing the degree in 2012. |

After that I worked as a lecturer in colleges. Now I want to do P.hd in aborad. the gate is essential for get the admission in aborad universities . Yes you can apply for GATE even after two years of completing your graduation.... because there is no age limit to apply for GATE exam... You can apply for it at any age of your life. So don't worry about that.... Prepare yourself for GATE,... But I would suggest you to apply for it the year after completing your graduation... Bachelor's degree holders Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. 2.Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. 3. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology. 4. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Also you can appear for the exam any number of times. Make sure to be thorough in the area of specialisation. Also do solve as many previous years papers possible. |

As there is no limit in the number of attempts for the gate examination. A candidate can apply for the GATE examination from pre-final year of engineering. Since there is no bar on the number of attempts in the gate examination so you can attempt the GATE any number of times. The detailed eligibility criteria for the GATE examination is given below: Education Qualification Candidates who are in final year or in pre final year of engineering are eligible to apply for the GATE examination. Also, those who are in final year or pre-final year of B.E. are eligible to apply for the same. Taking GATE is not a very tough thing so I would suggest you to appear next year with good preparation. There is no need to wait for two years just for taking GATE. Very importantly, there is no limitation or restriction in number of attempts and age. So you should try for GATE whenever you wish to.
