i am final year engineering student i want to write gate exam after 2 years , can i write gate exam after 2 years from my graduation, is i eligible for gate after 2 years ?

GATE exam is highest level exam for admission in M.Tech.student who want to do M.Tech from IIT colleges they first clear GATE exam.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering – GATE Eligibility 2011

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for GATE 2011 :

* Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
* Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
* Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master’s degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
* Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

eligibility :

You can apply for GATE after completion of Graduation in engineering.

Also, those who are in final year or pre-final year of B.E. are eligible to apply for the same.

Taking GATE is not a very tough thing so I would suggest you to appear next year

with good preparation. There is no need to wait for two years just for taking GATE.

Very importantly, there is no limitation or restriction in number of attempts and age.

Hi friend,dont worry !!! you are eligible to write the gate exam. But as you have a backlog, you just need to submit ,

>a copy of the marks sheet of final semester / final year

>or a copy of the course completion certificate

>or a letter from the principal indicating that you had a backlog and will be completing the degree in 2012.

GATE has literally no limits for attempts! You can easily prepare for 2 years after B Tech and then sit for the GATE exam.

Its basically organized by the IITs for the selection of candidates for Masters program in any discipline.

So doesn't matter if you are giving 2 years are completing your B Tech.
