Re: Post graduate from IGNOU is eligible for UGC NET exam? IGNOU stands for the Indira Gandhi National Open University. It is recognized university for every entrance exam and degree obtained is valid. So, you can apply for the National Eligibility test after doing post graduation from IGNOU. You must have minimum of 55% marks if you belong to general or OBC category and 50% marks in master's degree for SC/ST candidates to apply for the exam. You can apply for Lectureship through NET at any age but for Junior Research Fellowship, the upper age limit is 28 years. Official website: www.ugc.ac.in. |

The educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET exam. There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years. |

Re: Post graduate from IGNOU is eligible for UGC NET exam? Definitely you can go for the NET examination. Ignou is recognized university. The Eligibility for NET EXAM is to have a Post graduation degree in any stream from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks. |

It is an entrance examination conducted by UGC (university grant commission) at national level for the candidates who wishes to get teaching jobs in government university. Eligibility for appearing in NET are as under :- -The candidate must be an Indian. -The candidate should have completed Masters degree in related subjects with minimum 55% of marks.Final year appearing student can also apply for the exam. -There is no upper age limit to apply for the NET exam .
