Sorry to say,buddy, but still it is low,you have to get between 500-700 in order to get into NITs, Last year the gate cutoff for NIT durgapur- 550(software and IT) Also,the GATE score are now useful for applying to various jobs and you can also appy to various SEMI government colleges like - PSG, SRM, VIT etc. Many PSUs are also selecting on the basis of GATE score like- NTPC,BEL,BHEL and Power grid.
