Re: Is it true that the upper age limit for IPS exam has been reduced to 25 years? From when will it come into effect?

This is totally false that the upper age limit for IPS reduced to 25 for general category aspirants. Instead of it UPSC has raised the upper age limit for General category aspirants from 30 to 32 years.

For IPS you have to appear for Civil Service Exam that is conducted by UPSC. The Exam is for graduates.

Eligibility Criteria for Civil Services-
1. Graduation in any stream.
2. Age- 21 years to 32 years.

How To apply?
You have to apply for the exam online on following official link of UPSC-

Re: Is it true that the upper age limit for IPS exam has been reduced to 25 years? From when will it come into effect?

Friend, there is not any changes in age limit for IPS.

The basic eligibility requirement to appear in the IPS exam is to have a graduation degree. The candidate can be from any discipline of study.

Age limit :-The age of the General candidate must be above 21 years of age
while appearing the preliminary exam. The age of the candidate must not be more than 30 years(Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs).
. The candidates who are in the final year can also appear in the IPS exam.
