Dear Friend

Till now there is no such notification from UPSC.

Such decisions will surely be published in newspapers/websites.

Also the information should be circulated by News channels.

Anyways this information is completely wrong.

The age limit for the exam is same.

GEN: 21-30 years
OBC: 21-33 years
SC/ST/PD: 21-35 years.

Further information is available at www.upsc.gov.in

as far as my knowledge is concerned you did not get the right information.

For appearing in IPS you should be atleast 21 years and not more than 30 years of age.It is 33 years for SC/ST.The general candidates can attempt four times ,OBCs can attempt seven times and Sc/ST can appear any number of time. For IPS exam only Indian citizens are eligible. There are two papers for the prelims Paper 1 General Studies and Paper 2Optional Subject. For the main exam there are nine papers.Paper I Modern Indian Language Exam, Paper 2General English, Paper 3 Essay, Paper 4 General Studies, Paper 5 General Studies II, Paper 6 and 7Optional Subjects, Paper 8 and 9 Optional Subjects.. Books like competition review,NCERT Text books will be useful for the exam.Exams are generally conducted during the months of May and October.

Friend, there is not any changes in age limit for IPS.

The basic eligibility requirement to appear in the IPS exam is to have a graduation degree. The candidate can be from any discipline of study.

Age limit :-The age of the General candidate must be above 21 years of age
while appearing the preliminary exam. The age of the candidate must not be more than 30 years(Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs).
. The candidates who are in the final year can also appear in the IPS exam.

hi friend,
you surely have got the wrong information.
I think the age limit for IES is same as it earlier had been. Since there is no new notification stating any changes. If there would be any such decision taken , it will come up on the official website of UPSC or published in Newspapers.

Eligiblity criterion :
-age limit 21 to 30 years for general candidate.
-3 years relaxation for OBC i.e. 33 years.
-5 years for SC/ST ,35 years.

For new notifications keep checking at http://www.upsc.gov.in/

This is totally false that the upper age limit for IPS reduced to 25 for general category aspirants. Instead of it UPSC has raised the upper age limit for General category aspirants from 30 to 32 years.

For IPS you have to appear for Civil Service Exam that is conducted by UPSC. The Exam is for graduates.

Eligibility Criteria for Civil Services-
1. Graduation in any stream.
2. Age- 21 years to 32 years.

How To apply?
You have to apply for the exam online on following official link of UPSC-
