Hey friend, NDA-National Defence Academy The exam is conducted by UPSC and it is held 2 times a year.For writing this exam the candidate must be eligible for NDA. Eligibility criteria: The candidates must be a unmarried male candidate and must have not born before 2nd July 1993 and not later than 1st January 1996 i.e the candidates must be 16 1/2-19 years of age. The candidates appearing for the +2 exam is also eligible for the NDA exam. For Army Wing: The candidates must have finished their +2 with (10th,+2) pattern conducted by school education. For Air Force and Naval Wings: The candidates must have finished their 12th with (10th,+2) pattern conducted by school education and must have physics and mathematics as their subjects. As far concerned with the physical standards the candidate must be physically fit while appearing for the exam. Thank you. |

Being a commerce candidate, you can apply only for the Indian Army wing out of three wings available i.e. Indian Air Force, Indian Army & Indian Navy. The Eligibility Criteria for NDA for Indian Army is given below 1. Nationality : You must be a citizen of India. 2. Gender : You must be a male candidate. 3. Martial status : You must be an unmarried. 4. You must be physically fit. Educational Qualification : You must have qualified the 10+2 examination or any equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University. Age Criteria : The age limit for NDA is 16.5 years to 19 years. * For more details, visit www.nda.nic.in OR www.upsc.gov.in |

Re: Eligibility to apply for NDA with Commerce with maths in 11th and 12th standard? Sorry, you cannot apply for NDA while pursuing 11th class as it requires a pass in 12th class examination. Re: Eligibility to apply for NDA with Commerce with maths in 11th and 12th standard? Kashyap, Take Physics, Chemistry and Maths as your subjects in 12th. Also, Computer Science as an optional subject may prove helpful later. Also, age limit is 25 for appearing and you get 2 consecutive attempts only. Here is what you can do. *You need to focus on your studies properly, and get above 60%. *Enroll in a IITJEE coaching institute, if possible. *Give mock IITJEE tests. You need to get a very good rank to get into IIT. Best of luck. |

Hello Friend Definitely you can apply for NDA with commerce and maths.To join navy or air force you must have physics and maths in 12th standard.also you have to satisfy the the other eligibility criteria like your age must be within 19 years. I don't think commerce students are eligible for appearing in NDA exam but not sure about that so it would be better for you to visit the official site of UPSC that is http://www.upsc.gov.in I had attached a file which contain the full eligibility criteria for appearing in NDA exam.so, please have a look on it . |

Age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years. For Air Force & Naval wing you need to have Physics & Maths at 10+2 level. You have lot of time to prepare.So do prepare well & then appear for it. Sorry its not possible since you even need the other subjects i.e Physics and Chemistry.Students from PCM background are eligible for the NDA exam conducted by the UPSC board for Airforce and Indian Navy and Indian Army but Commerce students can only apply for the Indian Army.
