Re: Will I be able to apply for IAS exam if I am 36 years old(SC category)?

You will not be eligible to apply for IAS exam as you are over 35 years, the relaxed upper age limit for SC/ST candidate.

IAS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one should appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age.

The upper age is relaxed for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years.

Hence you are not eligible for Civil Service exam due to your over age.

dear friend,
Eligibility criteria for IAS exam:-

Educational qualification:-

*The candidate must have complete the graduation from any field..
*The candidate should not have any due backlogs during the graduation.

Age criteria:-

*The candidates age should be in between 21-30 years..
For SC/ST the age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the age relaxation is 3 years.

Re: Will I be able to apply for IAS exam if I am 36 years old(SC category)?

Sorry my friend you wont be able to give IAS exams because even after adding up the SC category benefits you get the maximum age limit goes to 30 + 5 = 35,and as you have said you have already crossed that age..you should have given it a consideration one or two years back.
