Re: Which are the subjects for IAS officer exam?

The Indian Administrative Service officers are selected through the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on the yearly basis.

If you want to become IAS officer then simply complete graduation. You can have any subjects of your choice in 12th and any graduation course to be eligible for the Civil Services Examination.

Therefore you have haven't already completed graduation, put the focus on it and complete the graduation. Choose the course for graduation which can offer you good job in case you are not selected for the Indian Administrative Service.

IAS Eligibility

1. Nationality of the candidate has to be Indian.

2. Basic qualification criteria is bachelor degree.

3. No percentage requirement in bachelor degree.

4. Candidates between age group of 21 to 30 years can apply.

5. The upper age limit is relaxed for OBC by 3 years as per govt rules.

6. 5 years relaxation is given for the SC/ST candidates.

7. No physical criteria requirement for Indian Administrative Service.

Selection Procedure

1. Preliminary Exam which is conducted in June. There are two written tests with the aim to qualify for the next stage. Unable to clear preliminary means that you can not appear for the rest of the stages.

2. Main Examination that will seal your fate. 9 written tests that will comprise your total score.

3. Personal Interview

dear guest its good to see that u are willing to prepare so early
u should take up those subjects only which u feel u will take in ur upsc exam
graduate in those so u'll master them by then which will help u alot
graduation is a must criteria for this exam so if ur determined go for specialization in desired subject
