So, the stream does not matter because of the journalist will work in the media companies for the post reporter, subeditor, news reader and higher authorities. So, if you want to become a Journalist, then you have a good command of the English language and after 12th you should have a Bachelor's degree in mass communication is required to make your career in this field. So, in 11th you can choose any field of your choice to become a journalist. |

Requirements for studying bachelor's degree in Journalism: Academic qualification: Students from all discipline of senior secondary board examination are eligible for journalism courses at bachelor's degree level. English must one of the compulsory subjects in 12th to apply for Journalism courses. You are free to select any stream of your choice. |

To get admission in journalism course the required qualification is that candidate must have passed 12th from a recognised board. Candidate passed 12th in any stream are eligible to appear for entrance examination to get admission in course. So, you can select the discipline for your interest course according to your choice. |

To get admission in the course candidate must have passed 12th from a recognised board. There is no limitation on discipline on aggregate of 12th stream to appear for examination or to get admission in the course. So, you can pursue any course in 12th to get admission in the course. Admission is conducted on the merit basis or through written and interview test conducted by the universities. |

A candidate who is interested to join Journalism course , must have passed 10 + 2 in any discipline from a recognised Educational Board with minimum of 50% marks and relaxation of 5% is given to reserved students. But according to my knowledge, you have to take Science stream in 11th or 12th standard. Because science stream has wide range of opportunities. And in the Journalism sector, you have to also deal with marketing and advertisements, so science stream will help you in figuring out all the topics and solutions. |
