If you want to go into defence service I would suggest you to first complete your graduation. After Graduation you can apply for Combined Defence Services examination(CDS). Girls candidate may apply for Officers Training Academy through CDS examination. Also there are opportunities in Indian Airforce for girl candidates. In Flying branch you can apply through Short Service Commission. The eligibility criteria is Age Limit: 19 to 23 years Education: Graduation in any stream from a recognized university with 60% marks. Also candidate should have studied Physics and Mathematics in 10+2. You can apply for Technical Branch jobs after B.E. Detailed information is available at http://careerairforce.nic.in/career_...ch_branch.html Eligiblity Creteria For CDS - Graduation Degree or Equivalent from a Recognized University. And Your Age Should Between 18 to 24 Years. But The CDS Exams I Was Already Over On 13/Feb/2011. NDA stands for National Defence Academy. NDA exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice time in a year for three wings. - Army wings - Navy wings - Air force Wings Eligibility criteria for NDA Examination :- Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Candidate must have completed 10+2 exam of a recognized School or Board and studying in the final year of 12th examination may also eligible to apply for Army wings. For Navy / Air force wings:- Candidate must have completed 10+2 with PCM subjects from a recognized board. There is no minimum marks required for NDA Examination . Age limit:- Age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years. There is No age relaxation for reserved categories in this exam. Only unmarried Male candidate are eligible to apply this exam. Height for NDA Exam:- - Army Wings - 157.5 cms - Air Force - 162.5 cms - Naval Academy - 157 cms Thank you....... |

Only the male candidate are eligible to apply for the NDA exam. Candidate who have passed the 10+2 examination and have age between 16½ - 19 years are eligible to apply for the NDA exam. Girls can apply for the defense as an officer. To apply for the defence services as an officer you should have to be graduate first. After the graduation you can apply for the Indian Army, Air force and Navy as an officer through CDSE exam. Candidates having graduation are eligible to apply for the CDSE examination. Candidates having degree in engineering are also eligible to apply for the CDSE exam. Candidate who appeared in the CDSE exam should have age between 19 to 24 for IMA. 19 to 23 for Air force and 19 to 22 for Naval Academy. So you are not eligible for the NDA examination but you can apply for the defence service after the completion of your graduation as an officer through above entry scheme. GOOD LUCK |

Through the NDA Examination , the candidates can join the following wings : * Indian Army * Indian navy * Indian Air Force The NDA Examination is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission. The NDA Exam is conducted as NDA-I in the month of April and NDA-II in the month of August. Both NDA-I and NDA-II Exam have the same eligibility criteria. The Eligibility Criteria Required for NDA Examination are : >> The candidate must have passed th in any stream from any recognized board. >> The candidates studying in std. 12th can also apply. >> The candidate`s age must lie in between 16.5-19 years. >> The candidates do not get any type of relaxation in age from the UPSC. >> The candidate must be a male. >> The Candidate must be unmarried. >> The candidate must be a citizen of India. OR A Subject of Nepal OR A Subject of Bhutan. So , from the above mentioned you can see that there is no chance for girls to apply for the NDA Examination. This is because the Union Public Service Commission does not allow Girls to apply for the same. The NDA Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) with the eligibility criteria that only those candidates who are male and have the following qualifications are eligible : a) Should have passed 12th with PCM from any recognized board. b) Age should lie in between 16.5-19 years. c) Must be an Indian. d) Must be unmarried as married candidates are not allowed to appear in the NDA Exam. d) Must have good mental and physical health. However , if you want to join Indian Defense then you can apply for the Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam. You need graduation from any recognized university and age between 18-24 years in order to be eligible for the same. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. But Government is keen to introduce Female candidate in these are of Defence Services in near future. NDA conducted twice every year by UPSC for an entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA. The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health. Girls can join the defence services after their graduation. They can join as a short service commissioned officer. Girls can also join in the technical cadre of the Defence services. Here too, graduation is a must. |

The eligibility for NDA states that only unmarried male candidates between the age of 16.5-19 years of age are only eligible. However, there is no reason to get demoralized. You can still join the defence forces as an officer in the Army, Air Force, or the Navy, after the completion of your graduation. After completing graduation or while in the final year of the same, you can appear for the CDSE(Common Defence Service Examination), to realize your dreams. You can do graduation from any field. Age Limits: For IMA 19 to 24 years For Air force 19 to 23 years For Naval Academy 19 to 22 years So, you cannot appear for the NDA, but still after the completion of your graduation you may apply for the CDSE and try your luck in the defence forces. |

Besides this girls can join armed forces only after completing their graduation through the following entry points: 1. CDSE- this is combined defense service examination. girls can apply for this after completing their graduation. 2. Direct Entry Scheme- In this the Male and Female candidates can apply in defense services directly as engineers after completing their 4 years degree from a recognised university, they have to face an interview. 3. UES- This is university entry scheme, through this both the male and female candidates can join armed forces. In this the armed personnel recruits candidates through campus interview and group discussions. |

He should be in the age group of 16 1/2 to 19 years. In addition he should be a candidate of unmarried. Girls can join into Defence by CDSE exam (Combined Defense Services Examination) . For this a girl should have completed her graduation. So first complete your graduation with good percentage and then appear for this exam |

Re: CAN girls apply for N.D.A.&N.A. examination? according to me no girls candidates can apply for the NDA or the NA exam .... but if they want then they can but after the completion of their graduation they can give exam like that of the CDS to get into the Indian army or the Indian Navy ..... |

Hi, Girls are not eligible for NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY AND NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION. only boy apply for N.D.A exam.NDA i.e National Defense Academy Exam is not written by Girls because Girls are Not Eligible for writing this. NDA is only Meant for Boys. Girls become More Responisble only after completing their graduation Or any degree. if girls wants to join indian Army then they can but Not after 12th they need to Go for further studies. |

Gils can be entered into the defense through giving CDSE, UES and SSE technical for womens. So you can apply for these above but not NDA. Good luck!!! |

After Graduation you have ample number of Entries like I) CDSE i.e Combined Defense Service Exam , need Girls/Guy with any Degree from recognized university for Indian Army. If they want to join Indian Air force then they need to have Physics Or maths as a subject in their Graduation. II) UES i.e University Entry Scheme , Final year Engineering Students are Eligible for this. III) SSC Technical Women Only Final year Engineering Students are Eligible For this. So, i do suggest you to Go for Engineering Degree to make your self Eligible for Every Entry.. Good luck. |
