SRM is also a good university.... suppose if u want to get seat via counselling, merits or under management quota, u can pursue at Top engineering colleges in tamilnadu like 1. PSG College of Technology, coimbatore ( PSG established in 1951, and it is first private institute in Tamilnadu, currently it is govt. aided and autonomous institution offering upto Ph.D level... PSG Tech is well reknown for its alumni. the great alumnis are 1.Dr. Mayilswamy Annadurai- ( project leader of chandrayan ISRO) 2. But here in ramapuram worst and waste of time and money .. you will not learn anything ,, especially CSE department, staff are too qorst , HOD doest now how to speak english,,,, Lectures are kuja for HOD ,,, they dont have any techinical skill,,, HOD is always ask why what ,,, other than that he did noit learn any thing in english,,, Mr.HOD please learn first how to dress up . SRM University please teach to ur staff's about the common sense and how to talk to human... corporate companies house keeping guys will behave better than ur staffs. Guys dont choose SRM for ur future... worthless,,, choose BITS or other colleges |

Many teachers do not know english and teach in tamil. They have a huge biased outlook against north indians and as for placements 4l is max |

No Definitely not students they are not even providing mininmum facilities like books they are providing ebooks and hostel facilities are poor compared to outsidehostels. It's bad university they are money minded people and will charge money for every act of the students even you got permission and absent for class you has to pay Rs.50 for every single day except for monday and friday b'coz it is Rs.100 for those days. On speaking about the quality of education is just like school. You can't take rest any day during the course daily there will be exam and even special class will be there if you got fail marks during late evening and there will be no bus waiting for you after the class. Placement is good yeah you will be placed in SRM college if you got good marks and you can easily find your senior as the staff for you. Infrastructure is bad no opensource wi-fi in campus but the environment is very good but you can even roam around the place b'coz there will be lot of people who ask you to leave the place once you where roaming. you will not allowed to go outside with your bike since they will be locked up in the gate you can only walk outside. There will be the canteen which look good but it will be as good in the taste but charge more than it's quality. Totally it will be waste if you where in Ramapuram campus that too very waste if you are belongs to Easwari Engg College of Ramapuram campus. |

Re: Is SRM university a good university? srm is a place of shit. if you want to enjoy your four years but waste your money then go there. but i have heard of rave paties and all happening at srm university. so for studies it is not good. i have got ssn whose campus is not as good as srm but it is not bad also. it is wi-fi enabled also. my teachers and principal said to go there. and at last i have got admission in ssn that too through anna counseling. getting srm main campus is very easy just give the management 2 lakhs and you are in(if you dont have any recommendation). but getting admission in ssn management quota is also very difficult because admissions are based on only merit and no recommendation works there. that shows ssn's worth and demand. fees difference between these colleges is sooooooooooooo much. for all the four years and including transport ssn fees is 4.5 lakhs but for srm the fees is 10 lakhs. there is enjoyment in ssn also. dont think only nerds go there. |

Re: Is SRM university a good university? I am a student of this university. I am doing my B. tech. To be honest none of the comments are true. No offense. But the truth is, this university has the worst faculty ever. They are qualified but they don't have any knowledge. They are bias to the people who can't speak tamil or don't live in tamil nadu. Also the teachers never help you out with anything. All they do is put you into more trouble so that they can enjoy their time watching you running here and there for stupid matters. As far as attendance is concerned. It doesn't matter if you bunk the class or not. They will give you the attendance if they want to. It's always upto them. You can never question them anything. Its an insult to their teaching methods. The crowd here will make you sick. People don't even have any basic etiquette. They don't even know how to talk. None of the faculty talks to you properly. They always treat you like pigs. They are disrespectful to you. The place is not safe to stay. I know a guy who had to leave the college because some tamil guy randomly came to his room and threatened him. All this if you belong to any other state than tamil nadu. All in all, the biggest of my life was choosing this university for my engineering course. The Inside Story of SRM University by a north indian student. |

SRM a top ranked university Yes definatly its a very good university. HRD Ministry has awarded it with A certificate.It has won awards and recognization from several organization. It has 4 big campuses in the country, facilated with all modern facilities like modern labs, laboratories,smart classes,wifi etc. Faculy member of the university are well qualified. Alumni of the university are working in reputed buisness houses. |

Re: Is SRM university a good university? i want to know about the advertisement done by SRM university as the no 1 private university. who gave the authority to claim this??? is it true or just a disguise. i have learn't that many of the faculties are not well qualified. even they are having problems in interacting with the students. they are in-taking student without fixing a particular number of intakes. the number of in-takes are just not only based on merits. they will take any number of students without fixing a particular number of seats. is it right??????? |

The SRM university is a private deemed university which is AICTE and UGC approved. It has got 4 campuses presently. The quality of education is satisfactory and infrasture are very good. Many companies visit the college for campus placement. So, you can get placed if you perform well in engineering. Although it is below par NITs but better than most of the private engineering colleges. The fee for all the courses is very high. So, be prepared for that if you are willing to join SRM University.
