Re: Admission procedure of Marine Engineering after class 12th? My son is studying in xii(pcm) his exam will be held on February 2027.his interest in marine life,not in engineering. He wants to chance with ship. Pls advice me that how can he prepare himself for that. |

Re: Admission procedure of Marine Engineering after class 12th? marine engineering is a 4 years course like other B.tech courses...... after completing this you can get job in merchant navy at various posts... and training for marine engineering course is a course for the B.tech graduates in electrical, mechanical, and technology.... It is a 9 months Pre-sea course in Marine Engineering conducted by the MERI.... |

Information about employment can be found on various websites, one is www.cssmmarine.com Ask your son to focus well on Maths if he seriously wants marine engineering. Calculative ability is essential in this field. |

Hello........I feel that you should be thinking about marine engineering only if you are interested in Merchant navy because the scope of marine engineering is fairly low.It is better to do mechanical engineering because then you can go in merchant navy as well as you can apply for many mechanical engineering fields. If you want to go ahead with marine engineering then you can write MHT-CET or you can apply in Andhra university.There are anumber of institutions offering marine engineering but the best would be MERI, Kolkata.You'll need to appear in IMUCET for engineeing course and then based on your ranks you'll get the college. If you are looking for private colleges then Samundra institute of maritime studies and tolani maritime institute are excellent.You have to write their exam separately and also qualify IMUCET. In marine engineering you might have to spend around 10 lakhs but once you join merchant navy i am sure you'll cover up that money in a fairly less time. ALL THE BEST. |
