Re: What I have to do after 12th to join NIFT? NIFT is National Institute of Fashion Technology and it conduct entrance examination for admission in it's institute. Yes, you are eligible to appear in entrance examination to get admission. The available courses are :- B.Des. B.F.Tech. Candidate must have passed 12th with PCM as main paper to get admission in B.F.Tech course. So, you can start preparation of examination according to its syllabus available at www.nift.ac.in. |

Hi, NIFT – National Institute of Fashion Technology NIFT conducts various undergraduate courses in Fashion Designing – Bachelor of Design ( In Leather Design, Fashion Design, Accessory design, Fashion communication, Knitweardesign ) Bachelor of Fashion Technology ( Apparel Production ) Eligibility for Bachelor’s course n NIFT ~~ For Bachelor in Design – You should be 12th pass from any recognised board. For Bachelor of Fashion Technology- You should be 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Maths, from a recognised board. Age – You should be 23 years old as on 1st November of the year of examination. Syllabus of the NIFT ~~ The exam consists of a written exam on – 1. (Leather Design) B.Des. (Accessory Design) B.Des. (Textile Design) B.Des. (Knitwear Design) B.Des. (Fashion Communication) Admission Procedure: The eligible candidates are required to appear for a written examination that is designed to test their knowledge, skill and aptitude for the programme opted. The short-listed candidates in the written test are invited for Situation Test (only for Design programme), Psychometric Test, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview as the case maybe, to complete the process of selection. If you are having liking towards fashion, clothing, dress designing, and if you are fascinated by accessory like Belt, Purses, Hand Bags, Trinkets etc., chances are great that you may be a future Fashion Designer. NIFT is a premier Fashion Design institute and offers many courses in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Accessory Design , Leather Design, Knitwear Design and Fashion Communication. NIFT has centers at BENGALURU, BHOPAL, CHENNAI, GANDHINAGAR, HYDERABAD, KANGRA, KANNUR, KOLKATA, MUMBAI, NEW DELHI, PATNA, RAEBARELI, SHILLONG and a few centers outside India. NIFT conducts every year a written Entrance exam for the students who wish to do the Bachelor programmes: B.Des (accesory design, fashion communication, fashion design, knitwear design, leather design, textile design), B.F.Tech (apparel production). The application Forms are available in the month of november to january & a written exam is conducted in the month of February.Declaration of written examination result is in the End of March and Situation test/group discussion/interview is held in the month of April-May. Prospectus can also be obtained from any of the NIFT centres by hand for Rs 250/- or by post on payment of Rs 350/- by way of demand draft in favour of NIFT payable at New Delhi.
