Re: Can I give IIT JEE exam more then once? I even took a gap after my first attempt

Listed below are the eligibility criterias for IITJEE exam:-
1)The candidate should not be more than 25 years of age.
2)The candidate should not sit for the exam for more than 2 times.
3)The interval between the year of passing class XII and the year of sitting for the exam should not exceed 2 years.
4)The candidate must have secured at least 60% in his class XII exam.

The above four points are the eligibility criterias for IITJEE and you are required to qualify for all the criterias. only then you will be eligible to sit for the exam.

Re: Can I give IIT JEE exam more then once? I even took a gap after my first attempt

yes you can give the exam more than once provided that you are:-
1)less than or are 25 years of age
2)you have given the exam only once befor this attempt(which means that you can appear for this exam only twice)
3)the interval of years between the year of passing class XII and the year of appearing for IITJEE should not exceed 2 years
4)and you have managed to score 60% in your class XII exam(QE-qualifying examination)

the above four points are the eligibility criteria for IITJEE as of till 2012.
best of luck!!!

Re: Can I give IIT JEE exam more then once? I even took a gap after my first attempt

IIT JEE allows candidates to give exam for two times.
You have the marks required to sit for the exam and also the medical files to show. So don't worry and give the exam fearlessly.

Good luck

Re: Can I give IIT JEE exam more then once? I even took a gap after my first attempt

Yes you can give iitjee for the second time only and not at all for the third time since you can sit for the exam for a maximum of 2 times only. Also you cannot sit if your age has crossed 25. And the maximum interval of time between your passing of class XII and your year of appearing for the exam is 2 years.

best of luck!!!

Re: Can I give IIT JEE exam more then once? I even took a gap after my first attempt

Yes, you are eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2010 but this will be your last chance.

Because, according to eligibility criteria of IIT-JEE exam, a candidate can appear in this exam only times consecutively i.e. if he/she misses this chance he/she can't give IIT-JEE exam anymore. So, don't miss this chance and work hard to get selection in IIT-JEE.

However, it is good that you are having all your doctor treatment certificates of a government psychiatrist.

Good Luck!!

Re: Can I give IIT JEE exam more then once? I even took a gap after my first attempt

Minimum eligibility criteria to appear in IITJEE

you should be 12th pass with minimum 60% marks or appearing in 12th.
You should have PCM as your main subjects in 12th.
you are allowed only 2 attempts to appear in JEE which is counted from the year you are appearing in 12th board.

Best of luck...

Re: Can I give IIT JEE exam more then once? I even took a gap after my first attempt

dear friend,
IIT can be given in two attempts. first while appearing for your 12th board exams and 2nd time the very next year. if you took a gap after 1st attempts then you lost the chances of giving it again.
better of luck

2. Year of passing Qualifying Examination (QE)

A candidate must have passed the QE for the first time, after October 1, 2009 or in the year 2010 or will be appearing in 2011. Those who are going to appear in the QE later than October 1, 2011 are not eligible to apply for JEE 2011.

The qualifying examinations (QE) are listed below :

1.The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized central / state Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi; etc. Intermediate or two – year Pre – University examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.

3. Minimum Percentage of Marks in QE Candidates belonging to GE, OBC and DS categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their QE. Whereas, those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the QE.

The percentage of marks awarded by the Board will be treated as final. If the Board does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the mark sheet.

If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counselling / admission. In case such a certificate is not provided then the final decision rests with the Joint Implementation Committee of JEE 2011.

Re: Can I give IIT JEE exam more then once? I even took a gap after my first attempt

Yes you can appear for IIT-JEE the second time.

Because you are fulfilling the eligibility criteria for IIT-JEE.

As per the eligibility, one can appear for IIT-JEE in two consecutive years after 10+2 with minimum of 60% of marks.

You have the required percentage of marks and you have attempted only once. So, there is every chance for you to appear for IIT-JEE.

Drop that will does not matter. You can manage by telling some reason with some evidence

Yes definitely as IIT-JEE provides two chances to appear in it and that too in consecutive years. one when you are appearing in class 12th exam and another just after that. you already have faced IIT in 2009 so you have another chance in year 2010 as you have above 60% in intermediate.
