No, math is not necessary for CA,the criterion for CA is given below,

1) C.P.T (common proficiency test) for this you have to register ICAI @ Rs.4,000
2) I.P.C.C (integrated proficiency competence examination) @ Rs.10,000 which includes I.T. training and orientation programme
3) then you have to do articleship for 3 years..then you are eligibile to sit in C.A final examination @ Rs.8,500

Re: Is Maths a compulsory subject for CA entrance exam?

hi,
CA is considered as a hard not to crack but you can easily crack it if you concentrate in the subject and you should also try to acquire some knowledge in the field of maths and accounts and you should be strong in the basics of maths. It will surely take some time for you to get settled in the job.
So,Math is compulsory for CA.

THANKS...

Re: Is Maths a compulsory subject for CA entrance exam?

Maths is not necessary for the ca course . if you have good knowledge accounts {ie: cost accounting , management accounting ,financial accounting and statistic } and if you have confidence then you can pursue for the ca course .

C.A is stance for Charted Accountant . the duration of the course is 3 years with practical examination .if the candidate qualified in 12th exam form recognized board cam pursue for the ca course . the institute contains three exams namely foundation exam , intermediate exam , final examination . if the candidate qualified in under graduation can directly apply for the intermediate course .

Subjects for ca course :

Financial accounts

Cost accounts

Auditing

Taxation

Management accounts etc....

Common proficiency test is the simple way to have an entry in CA. The test will be of 200 marks and divided into four areas. Accounting constitutes of 60 marks, General Economics of 50 marks, mercantile laws for 40 marks and that of quantitative aptitude constitute 50 marks. The quant paper constitutes questions from the school level exams and one can refer the competitive exam question for reference. Some of the areas in quant are ratios, logarithms, interest, differentiations and integration etc.
