Minimum qualification required to appear for IAS exams is Graduation from a recognized university. Age Limit for IAS: General - 21 to 30 yrs OBC - 21 to 33 yrs SC/ST - 21 to 35 yrs Defence Personnal - 21 to 33 yrs Ex serviceman - 21 to 35 yrs Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. The age criteria for IAS is as follows for different categories: General category: candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. Hi dear, Had you been a general candidate then you would have not been eligible to appear for the IAS.. the maximum age limit for appearing for the civil service exams is 33 years for OBC category.. there are two rounds.. 1) Prelims :- this stage will have two exams which will test your aptitude,general knowledge and current affairs.. Mains :- if you clear the prelims then you will be eligible for the mains..here your graduation subjects will be tested.. then if you clear this..you will have to clear the interview.. all the best.. Incase of Sc,ST and OBCs the age relaxation is upto 5 years and they will get relaxation in number of attempts also. Therefore you can easily sit for the exam. All the very best. |
