Age limit for civil service exam is:

General category:
candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

SC/ST:
up to a maximum of 5 years.

OBC:
up to a maximum of 3 years.

A general candidate can attempt Four times only.Where as Seven attempts of OBCs. And no limit for SCs/STs.


and yes you are eligible as for OBC the maximum age can be 33years....

The age limit is 21-30 years. but in case you are above 30 on this august you can go with the relaxation option available during form filling. You are eligible for 3 yrs relaxation.

For IAS you have to take civil service exam which is conducted by UPSC every year to
select only meritorious students.It is done in two phase preliminary and the main which
also includes interview.If you clear prelims only then you will be able to take written
exam.

1)yes you are eligible for civil services because there is an age relaxation of 3 years in OBC category.

So the candidate belonging to the age 21- 33 years of the OBC category can apply for the IAS exam

and for the OBC the number of the attempts in the Civil services exam is about 7 times

for the general category candidates the lower age limit is of 21 years and upper age limit is 30 years.

Had you been a general candidate then you would have not been eligible to appear for the IAS..

the maximum age limit for appearing for the civil service exams is 33 years for OBC category..

there are two rounds..

I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.
