What is the age-limit for IAS exam for OBC category student?
what is the age limit for IAS. I am belongs to BC category and my age wil be 30 yrs in june 16. i was born in 16/6/1981.

Hello friend,
The minimum age limit for civil service exam is 21 years for candidates belonging to any category but the maximum age limit varies as per the category of the candidate. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to general category is 30 years. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to SC/ST category is 35 years. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to OBC is 33 years. |

The age limit is 21-30 years. but in case you are above 30 on this august you can go with the relaxation option available during form filling. You are eligible for 3 yrs relaxation.

For IAS you have to take civil service exam which is conducted by UPSC every year to
select only meritorious students.It is done in two phase preliminary and the main which also includes interview.If you clear prelims only then you will be able to take written exam. Age limit for IAS: You must be between 21 years to 30 years if you are in general category There is some relaxation provides to students who belongs to lower caste SC/ST:Upper age limit is 35 years OBC: Upper age limit is f 33 years. The general age limit for IAS exam is 21 to 30 yrs. The candidate's age must not be greater than 30yrs on the 1st august of that year. So you are eligible only for this year. For your kind information i have attached you the document which shows you the relaxation of age limits. |

The required age to sit for IAS exam is 21-30 years as on 1st July of the appearing year. Incase of Sc,ST and OBCs the age relaxation is upto 5 years and they will get relaxation in number of attempts also.

For appearing IAS, exam the general candidate should have age between 21 and 30. For OBC category students, the age relaxation is 3 years on the upper age limit. That means, you can apply up to the age of 33.
