IAS is the part of UPSC, IAS test is conducted by UPSC, UPSC is Union public service commission whenever IAS is Indian administrative service. for more details you can refer www.upsc.nic.in |

Basic difference is UPSC is Union Public Service Commission and IAS is Indian Administrative Services. UPSC is a government body who is authorised to conduct various exam for government services. The examination was held 2 times in a year, So If you are Interested to become IAS Officer, then for this you have to apply for UPSC Civil services Examination. So, You Cant Differentiate UPSC and IAS examination Because IAS is a part of UPSC. UPSC is a Authority because they will conducts all these examination like IAS, IPS, IFS, NDA, CDSE, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of IT & Communication.
