The acronym for IPS is Indian Police Services. Now, you have completed your 12th with Commerce; so, at this time, you cannot appear for the IPS examination. For appearing in IPS examination, first of all, you will have to complete your graduation, then you can be eligible for this examination otherwise not. IPS examination is a civil services examination, which is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) every year. The selection procedure for the IPS examination is mentioned as below:- * Preliminary examination. * Mains examination. * Personnel interview. The eligibility criteria required for the IPS examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in any track from any recognized college or university. * Age limit:- 21-30 yrs. * Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/S contenders. * No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and no limits for SC/ST contenders. * Physically and mentally fit. * Nationality:- Indian. |

To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year after completion of Graduation Degree. So after 12th Commerce one is not eligible for IPS. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical and Mental Fitness. The candidate should have minimum Physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT:- General/OBC Male-165cm and Female-15cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm. CHEST:- Male-84cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. After completion of 12th one is not eligible to become an IPS officer as the minimum educational qualification for this is Graduation Degree. IPS - Indian Police Service, the candidate aspiring for an IPS officer has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness with minimum prescribed physical requirement such as General Male candidate having height of 165cm and Female with 150cm while SC/ST Male having height of 160cm and Female with 145cm and regarding Chest male should have minimum 84cm while Female with 79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. The IPS stands for Indian Police Service and the exam is conducted under Civil Service Examination by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The role of IPS officer includes: VIP Security Drug Trafficking Human Trafficking Anti Terror Operations Controlling Riots/Violence The process of becoming IPS officer for commerce students is same as the others. You will first be required to complete graduation course. Since you have completed 12th from Commerce, Bachelor of Commerce would be one of the options in front of you. Only after completing graduation you will be able to apply for the Indian Police Service. The process starts with first submitting the form to appear for the exam. The forms are made available towards the start of the year. Please ensure that you have given yourself 6-8 months to prepare before you apply for the Civil Service Examination. Following submitting forms in March/April you will be first called for the Preliminary Exam which is conducted in May/June of the same year. It will be followed by the Main Examintion that is conducted in August/September. The main exam is followed by personal interview. Upon clearing all you will be selected for the Indian Police Service. To prepare for the exam, keep yourself updated with the Current Affairs and read NCERT Books for Class 12th. You should also work on your English if its a weak link. Eligibility 1. You must be from within India to be eligible. 2. Should have successfully passed graduation course. 3. There should be no percentage criteria. 4. Minimum age to apply is 21 years while candidate should not exceed 30 years. 5. Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC. 6. The relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST. |

AFTER GRADUATION OR IN THE FINAL YEAR OF GRADUATION YOU CAN APPLY FOR CIVIL SERVICE EXAM TO BECOME AN I.P.S. OFFICER. Indian Police Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission . To become an I.P.S. officer you need to clear the preliminary exam , main exam , interview as well as physical fitness test. So at first you must complete your graduation. The age eligibility for general criteria is in between 21 to 30 years. SC/ST candidates are given an age relaxation of five years and OBC candidates have age relaxation up to 3 years. After getting your graduation you can choose commerce as an optional subject to write your IPS exam. |

UPSC civil sevices examination held twice in a year . It needs age between 21 to 30 . With this make yourself up to date. Keep the knowledge of other subjects also like history, geography, political sc.,economics etc. |

Minimum education criteria = Graduate also Candidates appearing for Degree qualification are also eligible for appearing in the examination, however, they are supposed to submit proof of passing the requisite qualification along with with Detailed Application Form for Civil Services (Main) Examination. so you need o be graduate for being IPS since you are from commerce background you can do B.COM...and apply.. Age limit for civil service exam is: General category: candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. SC/ST: up to a maximum of 5 years. OBC: up to a maximum of 3 years. A general candidate can attempt Four times only.Where as Seven attempts of OBCs. And no limit for SCs/STs. |

The examination was divided into 2 stages - Preliminery exam And Main exam. Firstly you have to crack the Preliminery exam and then you are eligible for Main examination.
