HI!
If you want to become Pilot you have to pass 12th with non-Medical Stream.

After passing 10th you have to opt:-
> Physics
> Chemistry
> Biology

After passing 12th you have to qualify the N.D.A exam.

After qualifying N.D.A exam you have three option:-
> Indian Army
> Indian Navy
> Indian Air Force

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.
In month of and April and August.

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass 12th with recognized university/ Board.
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year.
> Must be citizen of India
> Medically fit

There are three steep of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

ALL THE BEST!

Re: What to do after 10th to become a Pilot?

To become a pilot, you need to join Air flying schools after completion of 10+2, they should pass the 10+2 exam with physic, chemistry, math. Minimum marks should be 50%.

Here is some of the flying schools for training in flying from where SPL, PPL, and CPL training can be completed:

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Uttar Pradesh
Flying Training Institute, Behala, Calcutta
Government Aviation Training Institute, Civil aerodrome, Bhubaneswar
Karnal Aviation Club, Kunjpura Road, Karnal, Haryana
Government Flying Club, Aerodrome, Lucknow
School of Aviation Science and Technology, Delhi Flying Club Ltd, New Delhi
State Civil Aviation, UP Govt Flying Training Center Kanpur and Varanasi
Rajasthan State Flying School, Sanganer Airport, Jaipur
Govt Flying Training School Jakkur Aerodrome, Bangalore
Andra Pradesh Flying Club Hydrabad Airport, Hydrabad
Assam Flying Club, Guwahati Airport, Guwahati
Bihar Flying Institute, Civil Aerodrome, Patna, Bihar (More details are here)

you need to clear the entrance test exam of the flying schools in India, you also need to clear the physical fitness (Which is tough one). Only totally fit person can get opportunity to get admission in flying schools.

The cost of education is very high, it is around Rs 15- 20 lakh. Many banks can give loan up to 50%.

After completion of education, you get the licence of pilot. Airlines companies hires the successful candidates as trainee.

The salary of trainee is less. After successful completion of training periods they are posted as pilot.

Even after becoming commercial pilot, they need regular medical check up, any problem in health can cause cancellation of the licence of the pilot.

So, over all, job as a pilot is too challenging as well as very high rewarding .

Re: What to do after 10th to become a Pilot?

Dear friend,
First of all you must pass 12th with physics and maths as main subjects with minimum 60%.
After that you should have any science degree with minimum 65% or first class in degree course.
Maintain good physical health & body(weight in respect to your height).
Then apply for pilot in all three cadre i.e.Airforce, Army, Navy and get short listed for ssb interview and follow the procedure.

In case you want to join civil aviation then you need to have passed 12th with physics and maths and do degree engineering course . During your degree course you can apply in the private institute which are providing training and licence.
