Re: What to do after 10th to become a Pilot?
To become a pilot, aspirants need to join Air flying schools after completion of 10+2, they should pass the 10+2 exam with physic, chemistry, math. Minimum marks should be 50%.So, you have to complete 10+2 to appear for any pilot training ....
They need to clear the entrance test exam of the flying schools in India, they also need to clear the physical fitness (Which is tough one). Only totally fit person can get opportunity to get admission in flying schools. Don’t confuse with the job of pilot of Indian air Force. IAF pilot is selected through NDA exam, training is free!!!!! so 12th class necessary.......... |

Re: What to do after 10th to become a Pilot?
You have not mentioned here that whether you want to become a commercial pilot or a fighter jet pilot.
I'm providing the details of both here under: Commercial Pilot Eligibility Criteria: 1. Educational qualification: 10+2 with PCM minimum 60% 2. Age- a cndidate should have attained the age of 16 years. PROCEDURE- 1. SPL (student pilot license)- To become a commercial pilot in India, one has to first possess a Student Pilot License (SPL) You need to register at a flying club which is recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. Registration requires a medical certificate, security clearance and a bank guarantee. An oral examination in subjects such as Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation, Engine (technical and specific) follows the registration. Successful completion of the examination entitles you for an SPL certificate. 2. PPL (Private Pilot License)- The second step is the Private Pilot License (PPL). PPL training includes sixty hours of flying of which about fifteen hours are dual flights, that is accompanied by the flight instructor and at least 30 hours of solo flights apart from five hours of cross-country flying. This makes one eligible for the PPL exam, which consists of Air Regulation, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation, Aircraft Engines and Seamanship. The prescribed age for appearing for this exam is 17 years and an educational qualification of 10+2 along with a medical Fitness Certificate issued by the Armed Forces Central Medical Establishment (AFCME). 3. CPL(commercial pilot)- A Commercial Pilot Licence may be obtained only after a PPL has been acquired. To obtain a Commercial Pilots License (CPL) 250 hours of flying (including 60 hours for the PPL) is necessary. Besides that you have to undergo a Medical Fitness Test which is held at New Delhi and an examination which consists of Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation, Technical, Planning, and communications in the form of Radio & Wireless Transmission. With the CPL, a pilot can take up any professional assignment. FIGHTER PILOT- To become a fighter jet pilot you need to clear NDA examination conducted by upsc twice an year. following is the eligibility criteria: 1. Age- 16 1/2 to 19 years. 2. Educational qualification- 10+2 with PCM scheme minimum of 60% from a recognised board. 3. Nationality- Indian. 4. Gender- applicable for men only. 5. Marital Status- Only unmarried males can apply. |

Re: What to do after 10th to become a Pilot?
Dear Friend,
The basic education qualification to become an airline pilot is to clear 10+2 (Senior Secondary School) with a pass in Physics and Maths. So 12th is mandatory. To get into a commercial pilot's you have to get commercial pilot's license, which typically takes 1-2 years of training. After getting a commercial pilot's license, a job with an airline begins as a trainee co-pilot and after a transition training of 6 to 8 months, one starts flying on line as a co-pilot. It requires a basic aptitude (does not mean to be good in mathematics and science, but it does require one to have reasonably basic numerical abilities) apart from good reasoning and communication skills. Many of the people are uncertain about the procedure to become an pilot. One have to follow in depth, 1. Pass a medical to ensure you meet the medical requirements. 2. Undertake a training course to obtain a Commercial Pilot Licence 3. Obtain employment to build your flying experience. Here is some of the flying schools for training in india Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Uttar Pradesh Flying Training Institute, Behala, Calcutta Government Aviation Training Institute, Civil aerodrome, Bhubaneswar Karnal Aviation Club, Kunjpura Road, Karnal, Haryana Government Flying Club, Aerodrome, Lucknow School of Aviation Science and Technology, Delhi Flying Club Ltd, New Delhi State Civil Aviation, UP Govt Flying Training Center Kanpur and Varanasi Rajasthan State Flying School, Sanganer Airport, Jaipur Govt Flying Training School Jakkur Aerodrome, Bangalore Andra Pradesh Flying Club Hydrabad Airport, Hydrabad Assam Flying Club, Guwahati Airport, Guwahati Bihar Flying Institute, Civil Aerodrome, Patna, Bihar All the Best. |

Re: What to do after 10th to become a Pilot?
As you are a 10th pass, firstly pursue the +2 course taking Science stream with
Mathematics. The eligibility criterion to apply for the IAF is a pass in the intermediate course in Science disciplines. Once you complete the course, you can appear for the NDA examination. You have to pass the NDA test for getting admission in the defense academy of your preferred wing. There, you can start up the preparations to become a Pilot. You should also clear the PPL test for getting Private Pilot License. If you fail in the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test, you may not be eligible to appear for the GDPI. If so, you will be considered ineligible in Air force. |

Re: What to do after 10th to become a Pilot?
10th Qualification not sufficient to become a Pilot. So pursue 12th standard with maths, physics and chemistry subjects stream.
After completing your 12th standard, you can apply for NDA exam.If you qualify in that exam, you will be called for SSB interview, the interview will be for 5 days,if you able to stay for five days, then you will be selected, you can choose Pilot after your training. To crack SSB interview is difficult,so start your preparation from now itself. |
