Re: Which branch should I choose after 12th to get the maximum salary, Electrical or Mechanical?

Hi,

Please dont choose your branch with respect to pay. That never bring you a good future. Try to find out your interest and go in that field.

To answer you question i would suggest mechanical as a better option if you are a guy. The reason is that once you complete EEE it is very difficult to enter core sector. The only way to get into that is through on campus or through recommendations.

I would also specify that as a Mech engineer also it is difficult to get a job in core. But the percentage varies. Thats it.

Another point to note is that with both the fields you can enter into IT sector. May be EEE has higher preference in that case.

Re: Which branch should I choose after 12th to get the maximum salary, Electrical or Mechanical?

Dear aspirant,
If you really want do engineering after your intermediate, you can go for entrance exams like JEE to engineering in IIT's or APEAMCET to to engineering in our state. In engineering you have take a branch which you have more interest not the branch which having more demand. If take a branch in which you does not have interest you have to face lot of problem.
Now I will come to your question.Mechanical and electrical both branches are core and evergreen branches. They both have more chances. In mechanical engineering the competition is less compared to electrical, because now a day more are opting the mechanical. The mechanical is best suited for those who are desired to to job in government sector whereas the electrical is suited for private sector.Compared to Mechanical in electrical the salaries are quite high.
ALL THE BEST

You are talking about evergreen branches(Electrical and mechanical) in engineering. These two branches have a tremendous demand in industries and in government sectors also.
These two branches plays a major role in home appliances and also in manufacturing firms.and also agricultural fields mechanical engineering plays a crucial role in it.If you are interested at designing machine,i will suggest you that you can go to mechanical engineering.or if you are interested at electronics you can better go electrical engineering.

Re: Which branch should I choose after 12th to get the maximum salary, Electrical or Mechanical?

Hai friend
Both the electrical and mechanical branches have a much demand at present. You can join any one of these two courses of your interest.

If you have interest towards electronics then it is best to opt the electrical engineering. And completion of your engineering you can find many job opportunities in government and private sectors.

If you are interested in the designing of machines, manufacturing of machines then you can for Mechanical Engineering. It is a evergreen branch in the engineering. You can find job opportunities after completing mechanical engineering with more than 60%.You will be offered of about 4-5 lakhs per year.
Thank You

HI

No job would fetch you 50000/month after engineering. Atleast government jobs won't.
Though if you do really well and get placed in PSU, they quote their CTC as 8 lakhs and above but inhand salary is just 40000.

One of my friend got placed in PGCIL, ( 12lakhs package) and he is getting 46000 in hand.

One or two promotion and your one or two year of work ex would increase your salary to 50000+

But you have to be among the top rankers in the class for getting into such PSU as they prefer candidates with high marks.

all the best

Re: Which branch should I choose after 12th to get the maximum salary, Electrical or Mechanical?

HI

Electrical and MEchanical both are the core branches of engineering. each couldn't survive without other. That is the reason why these branches have good placement even in recession.

These branches are also known as ever green branches
You can choose either of them depending on your interest and kind of career you want.
Try talking to person who have done their graduation from either of the two brances.
Both will pay you good salary.

All the best

dear friend ,

each and every branch in the engineering field have its own importance in case of the jobs
for the future and about the salary the electrical engineering is the best branch than the mechanical engineering.

electrical engineering is the core branch and offers more government jobs than the mechanical engineering.

thanks

dear friend,
both mechanical and electrical engineering very good branches of b.tech. But if you compare them, then mechanical is considered as a better branch than electrical. This is because mechanical is considered as an evergreen trade. A mechanical engineer most probably finds a good job. Whereas some of the electrical engineers have to struggle a lot. From salary point of view also, mechanical will be better than electrical because companies are giving more salary to mechanical engineers.

Re: Which branch should I choose after 12th to get the maximum salary, Electrical or Mechanical?

Dear friend,
Both the branch are very good in their field but i tell you one thing branch doesn't decide salary it's your hardwork and knowledge which decide your reputation and salary in company.
Through both exam you can appear for civil service exam conducted by UPSC.
So,atlast i tell you one thing that decide branch by your interest not by salary.Because now you choose branch by salary but latter you feel not good when you doesn't able to give best.

Hello dear,

You are asking in which you can earn more. Both courses are technically more weightage. It offers more salary. So, both are equal. You can choose anyone in which you have more interest.

All the best.

Re: Which branch should I choose after 12th to get the maximum salary, Electrical or Mechanical?

Both are evergreen branches....they will always be in demand.

They both get job in public as well as private sectors....

Job opportunities of Electrical Engineers:

Electrical Engineers are required by the industries manufacturing all the household and office appliances like refrigerators, televisions, computer, microwaves and everything else related.

They also find employment in atomic power plants, hydroelectric power plants as well as thermal power plants.

Electrical Engineers have the opportunity of earning extremely good salaries, especially in big organisations where very good packages are offered to them which is inclusive of excellent salaries, company cars, housing benefits etc.

A career in Electrical Engineering not only provides great financial benefits, but it also provides job satisfaction along with a recognition in the society.

Job opportunities of Mechanical Engineers:

Though Mechanical Engineers work mainly in manufacturing firms they can find work easily in administrative and managerial positions in government departments or do research as well as teaching in research and teaching institutes.

Several government departments including Posts and Telegraphs, Defence, PWD, and CPWD employ mechanical engineers as well as the railways, need mechanical engineers to design and maintain their machinery

In agricultural sector, mechanical engineers play an important role by establishing service centres for maintenance of tractors, oil engines, pump sets, electric motors and other agricultural equipments.

So both the streams are equal in respect of job and Salary....choice is yours.

Re: Which branch should I choose after 12th to get the maximum salary, Electrical or Mechanical?

hi...i would like to tell you one thing very clearly and that is that your approach of selecting an course is very bad because never you should choose an course depending on the salary you will be paid but rather it should be based on your interest and what you want to become in future .If you are good in your field then you will surely get an good salary and there is no way that we can compare the pay of two different area of specialization because in todays world same companies are working in different fields and they pay almost the same for all professionals of different fields having the same post ,the best example is larsen and toubro limited
