hi...i would like to tell you one thing very clearly and that is that your approach of selecting an course is very bad because never you should choose an course depending on the salary you will be paid but rather it should be based on your interest and what you want to become in future .If you are good in your field then you will surely get an good salary and there is no way that we can compare the pay of two different area of specialization because in todays world same companies are working in different fields and they pay almost the same for all professionals of different fields having the same post ,the best example is larsen and toubro limited

Both are evergreen branches....they will always be in demand.
They both get job in public as well as private sectors.... Job opportunities of Electrical Engineers: Electrical Engineers are required by the industries manufacturing all the household and office appliances like refrigerators, televisions, computer, microwaves and everything else related. They also find employment in atomic power plants, hydroelectric power plants as well as thermal power plants. Electrical Engineers have the opportunity of earning extremely good salaries, especially in big organisations where very good packages are offered to them which is inclusive of excellent salaries, company cars, housing benefits etc. A career in Electrical Engineering not only provides great financial benefits, but it also provides job satisfaction along with a recognition in the society. Job opportunities of Mechanical Engineers: Though Mechanical Engineers work mainly in manufacturing firms they can find work easily in administrative and managerial positions in government departments or do research as well as teaching in research and teaching institutes. Several government departments including Posts and Telegraphs, Defence, PWD, and CPWD employ mechanical engineers as well as the railways, need mechanical engineers to design and maintain their machinery In agricultural sector, mechanical engineers play an important role by establishing service centres for maintenance of tractors, oil engines, pump sets, electric motors and other agricultural equipments. So both the streams are equal in respect of job and Salary....choice is yours. |

Dear friend,
Both the branch are very good in their field but i tell you one thing branch doesn't decide salary it's your hardwork and knowledge which decide your reputation and salary in company. Through both exam you can appear for civil service exam conducted by UPSC. So,atlast i tell you one thing that decide branch by your interest not by salary.Because now you choose branch by salary but latter you feel not good when you doesn't able to give best. |

both mechanical and electrical engineering very good branches of b.tech. But if you compare them, then mechanical is considered as a better branch than electrical. This is because mechanical is considered as an evergreen trade. A mechanical engineer most probably finds a good job. Whereas some of the electrical engineers have to struggle a lot. From salary point of view also, mechanical will be better than electrical because companies are giving more salary to mechanical engineers. |
