Re: Required score in GATE (civil engineering) to get into IIT or IISC?

These are the cut offs for the civil engineering :

Open / General :450
OBC :395
SC :295
ST :265

The admission are based on the percentile basis, and you must have to score more then the 95 percentile then only you will get admission in the IIT's.

Re: Required score in GATE (civil engineering) to get into IIT or IISC?

as you has not mentioned your category so i am providing you the cutoff's for all categories

marks : 450(gen.)
395(obc)
295(sc)
265(st)

and dear , these cutoff's are for year 2009 and you must take care of that they are just for an idea and they can have a change drastically depending upon the level of paper.

as in 2009 , marks 670 got air around 280
2010, marks 670 got air around 898
and in next you might not be qualified with these marks.

so it won't be better to look for the last year's cutoff's ,
just give your best and hope for getting the best.

Re: Required score in GATE (civil engineering) to get into IIT or IISC?

hi, im from civil engineering. Gave GATE-2011.. open category.

I got 506 score, 1036 rank, 38 marks, 96.5 percentile.

Applied for all IITs for MTech in transports as first option. i dont want structures. for all IITs gave transports as first option, soil mechanics as second, water works/related as third (delhi gave rock engg as 3rd, c.mgmt as 2nd);

I basically want MTech in transports or soil mechanics.

Which IIT would i get? Do i need to apply for NITs? my preference options are roorkee> kanpur= kgp= delhi> mumbai> madras> ghy

hi!

To get admission into mtech course (civil engineering) of IIts & IISC you must score more than 450 marks if you belong to general category.

The cut off for SC/ST/OBC candidates are relatively lower. For SC/ST candidates the cut off is around 265, while for OBCn candidates the cut off is 450.
