IES i.e Indian Engineering Services is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services (IES). Eligibility Criteria You must have got Degree in any one of the following : Electrical Engineering Electronics & Communications Engineering Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also Final year students are also eligible. Your age should be not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years.There is relaxation for SC/ST in upper age limit of 5 years and for OBC its 3 years |

IES(Indian engineering services)exam is conducted by UPSC for engineering Graduates. eligibility for IES exam in terms of academic qualification is a bachelors degree in engineering from civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and telecommunications Engineering Mechanical Engineering streams. so a Electronics engineering degree holder can very well apply for IES exam Gud Luck |

Re: Can a Electronics engineering holder apply for IES exam? Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam is conducted by UPSC in every year. This exam is conducted in the two step. 1. Preliminary exam. 2. Main exam. Some important information for IES exam is given below: A) Eligibility Criteria: 1. A candidate must have a engineering degree from a recognize university in the discipline of electrical, electronics, civil, mechanical engineering. 2. The final year student of engineering are also eligible for this exam. B) Age Criteria: 1. for general category the age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of filling the form. 2. For SC/ST student the upper age relaxation is 5 years. 3. For OBC student the upper age relaxation is 3 years and for PD candidate the upper age relaxation is 10 years. You can apply for the exam as you are having a degree from engineering from electronics. The education qualification of IES states that the candidates must have completed their degree in Engineering in fields like Civil,Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Re: Can a Electronics engineering holder apply for IES exam? The year 2011 is a boon for the engineers and freshers,as it give a number of wonderful opportunities. An engineering graduate can surely apply for ies exam.Or a final year engineering student can also appy for this exam by providing enough proof of passing the course.There will be general ability test that includes questions regarding general awareness and english ability,another 2 papers with questions of your core branch,another 2 papers with quetions of engineering.A student with all basics of engineering can surely try this with extra added knowledge and efforts from his part. |
