What is the age limit for applying for the Assistant Professor in universities according to UGC norms? Please help me to know about this.

The examination is conducted by UGC as NET as for recruitment of candidates an Assistant Professor.

The eligibility to appear for examination is that the candidates must have passed master's degree with minimum 55%. There is no age limit to appear for examination.

The examination is conducted twice every year in month of June and December. For more information about examination visit at www.ugc.ac.in.

Normally, age limit for any lecturer post in UGC recognized government universities is 21 to 40 years. You have to qualify UGC NET for getting job in a government university.

There is relaxation available for candidates who belong to reserved category.

Those candidates who have completed Ph.D degree from a recognized University are eligible for Assistant Professor. If you have qualify in UGC NET/ SET/ SLET exams, then also you are eligible for Assistant Professor post.

Your age should be below 60 years.

According to the UGC norms, there is no upper age limit mentioned for the post of Assistant Professor in UGC recognised University. So, there is no problem regarding the age factor.

I am working as a guest lecturer in training college under Kerala. University. I have 10 years experience ( 5 years from this college). Now our post created. But i completed 43 years. Is there any age relaxation in my case for applying the above said post.

Regarding the last question,you will not be recruited as Lecturer or Assistant Professor based on Post Graduate degree alone.
You need to clear NET or SET exam to be eligible. After clearing NET,when the universities or colleges posts their vacancy,then you can apply for Ph.D.
These days non-NET candidates are not called for Ph.D admission.After Ph.D,you can apply for Lecturer post.

Namaste, My question is, My age is 43 years and I had become eligible in NET 8/7/2018, qualified for Assistant professor. I had completed M.Sc in Yogic Sciences in 2008, from Mangalore university and PG Diploma in Yoga Studies in 2015 from Karnataka University, Dharwad.

what is the age limit for the post of Assistant professor in Govt colleges. Iam not asking for net exam. In net exam there is no upper age limit
