Eligibility to become an Assistant Professor in any reputed Government university for PhD holder who haven't qualified in NET?
Hi friends, I have completed my PhD program around 2 years ago. I haven't qualified in NET. So, am I eligible to become an Assistant Professor in any reputed Government university? Please let me know about this immediately.

As per new UGC Regulations , PhD degree will be major requirement to become an Assistant Professor at the University level.
Net would not be required for those who have completed their PhD. The minimum qualification for appointment as Assistant professor is either NET qualification or PhD in the subject with minimum 55% in post graduation . Associate professor or Professor qualification are different. For that, apart from PhD , ine might need experience in teaching . |

Yes,why not you can become a Assistant Professor without qualified the entrance exam called NET.
Qualification required for PhD is, candidates must have a post graduate degree from a recognised university. |

NO, without a NET or equivalent qualification you can not register for PhD in India. If your PhD is from abroad then you need to have the NET lecturership qualification to teach in any college in India.

Yes. As per the latest rule, you are eligible to become an Assistant Professor in any reputed Government University for Ph.D. holders who haven't qualified in NET.
