I have pursued Msc Dietetics and Applied Nutrition with 9.5 cGPA on 10. I'd like to know if I am eligible to apply for PhD in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology at Madras University

The basic eligibility criteria required to apply for PhD in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology at Madras University is given below,

Name of the College- PhD in Biochemistry

Name of the Course - Madras University

>> Candidates must must have completed Master's Degree in Zoology or Life Sciences or Microbiology or Biochemistry or Genetics or Biotechnology or Molecular Biology..etc.,

Or else

>> MBBS or any other Bachelor's Degree in Indian Medicine BDS or B.V.Sc or B.Tech in Biotechnology or Genetic Engineering or Bio Medical Sciences of the recognized university or institute to be eligible.

PhD Molecular Biology Eligibility:-

>> The students with a master's degree in the respective field from a recognized institute with minimum 55% aggregate marks are eligible for this course.
>> Students must have a valid GATE/NET/RET/SET/JRF examination score or should have appeared in the entrance examination of the university.

The Eligibility is:-

Candidates who have done post graduate degree from a recognised university can study PhD Biochemistry/Molecular Biology at Madras University.

Minimum Marks required 55%.

And there is no age restriction.

Eligibility

Students must have a valid NET/GATE/SET score or should have appeared in an entrance exam.

°°° In order to pursue PhD in biochemistry or Molecular Biology the candidate should have obtained a masters degree with 55% marks in the qualifying examination in the same stream and relaxation of 5% is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories.

UGC NET / CSIR NET qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test that is conducted by Madras University and are called directly for personal interview round.
Admission process for PhD program is conducted in the month of December, March, June and September.
