Should I appear in UGC-NET for securing PhD(Physics) admission in Calcutta University? Cutoff score required for admission?

Hi friends, I am interested to get admission and pursue a PhD in Physics course in Calcutta University. So, I have to appear in UGC-NET for admission? If I have to appear in UGC-NET for admission then what would be the cutoff score for getting admission?

It is not compulsory to appear in UGC- NET for PhD admission, now a days university conducts their own entrance test for admission. Admission selection to study PhD in Physics at Calcutta University is done on the basis of the Research Entrance Test which is conducted by the university departments followed by an interview. NET/SLET qualified candidates will be exempted from the written entrance examination.

The educational qualification required is a candidate must have passed Master's degree in the relevant field with a minimum score of 55% marks in aggregate for general category and for SC/ST it is 50% marks in aggregate. I am also giving you the university website link for your reference that is www.caluniv.ac.in
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
