Admission criteria for MTech programs can vary from year to year and are determined by the institute offering the program.

It is generally difficult to secure admission to MTech programs with a GATE score of 24.

The current admission criteria for MTech at VJTI Mumbai, visiting the official website of the institute or contacting their admissions office directly. They will have the most up-to-date information regarding the required GATE scores and other eligibility criteria for admission to their MTech programs.

Since, you have not mentioned the discipline of your GATE paper it is not possible to provide you with any reliable information as 24 marks in the Electrical Engineering paper this time is much better when compared to 35-40 marks for any other discipline paper.

Also, I would like to let you know that having scored 24 marks out of 100 marks and belonging to open category, you will not be considered as a GATE qualified candidate as the minimum qualifying marks in any discipline is 25 marks out of 100 marks for Open category candidates.

So, I request you to repost a query mentioning the GATE paper discipline and M.Tech. specialization in which you are interested to take admission to get more specific information.

Admission to M.Tech programs in colleges or universities typically depends on various factors, including your GATE score, academic performance, and availability of seats.

Considering your GATE score of 24, which is relatively low, it may limit your options for admission to M.Tech programs in top-tier institutions. However, you may still have possibilities for admission to M.Tech programs in other colleges or universities that accept lower GATE scores or have relaxation in cutoffs for specific branches or categories.

To identify suitable colleges or universities for M.Tech admission, you can consider the following options:

1. State Universitiesg:
Explore state universities in your region or other states that offer M.Tech programs. Some state universities may have relatively lower cutoffs and offer a range of specializations.

2. Private Universities and Colleges:
Many private universities and colleges offer M.Tech programs and may have more flexible admission criteria. Research and identify private institutions that have good faculty and infrastructure in your desired field of study.

3. Regional Engineering Colleges:
Look for regional engineering colleges or institutes that offer M.Tech programs. These institutions sometimes have lower cutoffs and can provide quality education.

4. NITs and IIITs:
National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) are renowned for their M.Tech programs. While your score of 24 might be low for admission to top NITs or IIITs, you can still explore options in slightly lower-ranked NITs and IIITs.

5. Deemed Universities:
Check out deemed universities that offer M.Tech programs. These institutions often have their own admission criteria and may accept lower GATE scores.

It's essential to research the eligibility criteria, cutoffs, and admission processes of individual colleges and universities. Additionally, consider factors such as faculty expertise, infrastructure, research opportunities, and placement records while making your decision.

Some institutions may conduct their own entrance exams or have separate admission processes for M.Tech programs.

With a GATE score of 24, you are unlikely to get admission to top government colleges like IITs and NITs. However, there are many private colleges that offer M.Tech. programs and have a lower GATE cutoff. Here are some of the colleges that you can consider:

* Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT): VIT is a private university located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. It offers M.Tech. programs in a wide range of engineering disciplines. The GATE cutoff for VIT is usually around 50-60 marks for the general category.

* Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani: BITS is a private university with campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai. It offers M.Tech. programs in a wide range of engineering disciplines. The GATE cutoff for BITS is usually around 60-70 marks for the general category.

* Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat: SVNIT is a government-funded technical university located in Surat, Gujarat. It offers M.Tech. programs in a wide range of engineering disciplines. The GATE cutoff for SVNIT is usually around 70-80 marks for the general category.

You can also consider applying to colleges that do not require a GATE score. These colleges usually have a lower admission criteria and are a good option for students with a low GATE score. Here are some of the colleges that you can consider:

* Gujarat Technological University (GTU): GTU is a government-funded technical university located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It offers M.Tech. programs in a wide range of engineering disciplines. Admission to GTU is based on the applicant's academic performance and an entrance test conducted by the university.

* Anna University: Anna University is a government-funded technical university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It offers M.Tech. programs in a wide range of engineering disciplines. Admission to Anna University is based on the applicant's academic performance and an entrance test conducted by the university.

* Jadavpur University (JU): JU is a government-funded university located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It offers M.Tech. programs in a wide range of engineering disciplines. Admission to JU is based on the applicant's academic performance and an entrance test conducted by the university.

Admission to M.Tech programs is competitive, and acceptance depends on several factors such as your academic qualifications, entrance exam scores, availability of seats, and the specific requirements of each institution. While I cannot provide a personalized list of colleges you can get admission to without specific details about your profile, I can provide some general information.

In India, admission to M.Tech programs is typically based on entrance exams such as GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), which is widely accepted by most institutions. Some top institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) have their own entrance exams or may consider GATE scores. It's important to research the admission criteria and cutoff scores of specific institutions to determine your eligibility.

Apart from GATE, some universities or institutions may conduct their own entrance exams or consider other national-level exams like PGEE (Post Graduate Entrance Exam) for admission to their M.Tech programs. Each institution may have specific eligibility criteria, including minimum academic requirements and cutoff scores.

To increase your chances of admission, consider the following:

Research: Explore the websites and brochures of universities and institutions offering M.Tech programs in your desired field. Look for information regarding admission requirements, eligibility criteria, application deadlines, and the selection process.

Entrance Exam Preparation: If the institution requires an entrance exam like GATE, dedicate time to prepare for it. Obtain the syllabus, study materials, and previous years' question papers to familiarize yourself with the exam pattern and content. Join coaching classes or online courses if necessary.

Shortlist Universities: Make a list of universities or institutions that align with your interests and meet your academic requirements. Consider factors such as reputation, faculty expertise, research opportunities, and industry collaborations.

Strong Application: Prepare a strong application package that includes your academic transcripts, recommendation letters, statement of purpose, and any additional documents required by the institution. Tailor your application to highlight your relevant experience, skills, and achievements.

Apply to Multiple Institutions: Apply to multiple institutions to increase your chances of acceptance. Consider applying to a mix of highly competitive and moderately competitive institutions to have a range of options.
