AMIE stands for Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers. This degree is equivalent to an engineering degree and is conducted by Institution of Engineers, India. AICTE, UPSC, Central Government has recognized this degree. It also enables them to appear for Civil Services, GATE, GRE etc. examinations. AMIE has two sections, section A and section B. The exam is conducted twice a year. The candidates will be allowed to sit for section B only after successfully completing section A and project for 1 year. In section B candidates have to choose a specific subject and will have to prepare for that subject only and appear for that subject’s exam. The papers are all of 3 hours duration.
