Discrete Mathematics under the BCA bachelor program of the Madurai Kamaraj University is a subject based on discrete variables that cannot be further broken down into fractions. Finite mathematics is a part of discrete mathematics that works with finite sets particularly applicable in business. The broad topics covered in the syllabus mainly include algebra of propositions, logical arguments, compound statements, truth tables in the proving section. The sets section includes operations of sets, binary relations, equivalence relations and partial orders. Domain, inverses, range, composition, set cardinality and one-to-one correspondence are contained in the functions section. The integers section consolidates the prime number, congruence and division algorithms. Mathematical inductions, recurrence relations, polynomial functions and defined sequences come under the induction and recursion section. The principle of counting includes the rules of multiplication and addition and inclusion-exclusion criteria. Finally the section of permutations and combinations deals with sums of permutations, combinations and repetitions.

hi ,i'm B.C.A second year student and i would appreciate help with the question below.
1) if a,b,c are element of a distributive lattice (L,^,V), prove that a v b =a v c and
a^b = a^c => b=c.
