The university was established under the Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University Act, 1987 with the motto “health for all” and it is the second largest health university in India. The mode of instruction is English where candidate performs practical work also. This paper ‘nutrition and biochemistry’ deals with human body, its composition and optimum nutrition required for the maintenance of health. There are 2 papers of 100 marks and 50 marks and 3 hours is given to solve the questions which are of 3 types. It is either of 2, 5 or 15 marks based on the word limit. Students are adviced to stick with the word limits while answering the questions. Special credit is always given to those candidates whose are short and to the point.
