Yes, your daughter should be eligible to appear for the CBSE class 10 board exam in the academic year 2023-2024. As per the CBSE guidelines, the minimum age limit for appearing in class 10 board exams is 14 years as on 1st April of the corresponding academic year. Since your daughter was born on 1st April 2006, she will be 14 years old on 1st April 2020 and hence will be eligible to appear for the class 10 board exam in the academic year 2023-2024.

The minimum age limit of a board examination candidate should be 15+ or 16+ years of age as of 1st March of the respective year.

If your daughter satisfies the above criteria, then she is eligible for the board examination.

CBSE has not released any notification about the age limit criteria.

It is the Directorate of State education department which releases the age limit qualification for appearing in std 10th board examination with respect to students of respective state.

There is no maximum age criteria for appearing in the 10th CBSE board exam. However, the CBSE recommends that students appearing for the exam should be at least 14 years old, as they would have completed the minimum age requirement for admission in a secondary school.

The very first thing I would like to let you know is that there is nothing like minimum age criteria for appearing in Class 10th board examination set by the CBSE in general but it follows the age criteria if any set by the concerned board of education in which the school is located.

But, having born on 01.04.2006 and going to appear in the Class 10th board examination in 2024 which means your daughter will be appearing in the Class 10th board examination at the age of nearly 18 years, there should not be any problem related to her age as far as age criteria for appearing in the board examination under any board of education as no board of education has a minimum age requirement of 15 years or more for appearing in the Class 10th board examination.

The student seeking admission to Class X Board examination has to satisfy the requirement of age limits (minimum and maximum) as determined by the State/UT government and applicable to the place where the school is located.
