My younger cousin is 2002 born and unfortunately he detained in class 9th twice. So will he be eligible to give class 10th board exams at the correct age? We want to shift him to boarding school as well so can we do that in middle of class 9th?

As per the guidlines of central board of secondary education (CBSE) the minimum age to appear in the 10th board exam is 14 years , as of 31st december of the year of examination .

However , there is no upper limit of age to appear in the exam.

But there is maximum number of attempts to appear in the examination. A candidate can at most attempt 3 times for CBSE board exam.

As per the Central Board of Secondary Education guidelines there is no official announcement regarding the age limit to appear in 10th board examination.
Central Board of Secondary Education says that if a candidate has passed 9th standard at any age and has registered for board examination of standard tenth then he or she can appear for High School Board exam without any difficulty.

As per the reputed board guidelines, if the candidate has successfully completed class ninth then he or she can sit in 10th board examination without any kind of obstacle.
So, it does not matter whether the candidate has achieved the age of fourteen or not.

In general, the minimum age required for appearing in the Class 10th board examination is 14 years or even 14 years and 6 months. Also, there is no maximum age limit for appearing in the same examination.

So, being born in 2002, your cousin will have no issue regarding his age while appearing in the Class 10th board examination.

Also, yes it is possible to switch schools during Class 9th until the registration process for Class 10th board examination is not over which is usually done during Class 9th only.
