Respected Sir, My age is 16 years and I want to apply for NEET exam. I want to know am I eligible to apply for NEET exam at the age of 16 years? If not then what is the minimum age required to appear for NEET exam 2017? Please answer as soon as possible.

Minimum Age Criteria Required to appear for NEET 2017 Examination:

The minimum age required to appear in NEET 2017 Examination is 17 years. Yes, you must have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission into the course.

Age criteria required for NEET 2017 Examination is considered as on or before 31st December of the previous year. i.e., Minimum 17 years as on 31st December 2016. As you are a 16 year old candidate, I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to apply for NEET 2017 Examination. You may apply for the exam next year when you attain the minimum age of 17 years.

The eligibility criteria for NEET exam 2017:-

The candidate should have passed the 12th from a recognised board with the 50% of marks.

The candidate must be the citizen of India.

The candidate must have completed the age of 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year of application.

The minimum age required for a candidate in order to appear for NEET examination is that the candidate should have attained the minimum age of 17 years and not below that.

You, however are not eligible to appear for NEET examination this year, you can however appear for the examination in the concluding year when you will have attained the minimum age of 17 years.

NEET stands for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.

Eligibility Criteria

** Applicant should have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.

AGE LIMIT

** Minimum age = 17 years and Maximum age = 25 years

As per my knowledge, you are not eligible for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test at the age of 16 years.

Age criteria required to appear for NEET 2017 examination is mentioned below :-

--> You should be at least 17 years old as on 31st December, 2017.

--> You should not be more than 25 years of age as on 31st December, 2017.

--> Upper age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per government rules.

So, being a 16 years old candidate, you are not eligible to appear in NEET 2017 examination.

NEET stands for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test and examination is conducted by CBSE every year for admission in medical course.

The minimum age limit to appear for examination is 17-25years as on 31st December of year of appearing for examination with relaxation in age for reserved category.

So, you are not eligible to appear for examination.

Those candidates who have completed 12th standard from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subject are eligible for NEET exam 2017. At 10+2 level you need to secure minimum 50% of marks in physics, chemistry and biology taken together.

Your age should be in between 17 to 25 years.
