Can I get admission for direct second year engineering course in Rajiv Gandhi College or Somaiya College with 82% in 3rd year Diploma in Information Technology? I belong to General caste category.

If you want to take advantage of your diploma in engineering for lateral entry admission in 2nd year B.Tech, then you have to appear for state level engineering exam. JEE doesn't offer such admission in B.Tech degree courses and you have only the option of appearing for state-level engineering entrance exams.

Every state technical University conducts an entrance exam for professional courses admission in colleges situated in the same state. You have to look for the notification and apply for admission and if your rank is good enough you can get admission at your choice of college.
