Loyala College of Education at Namchi began its educational journey from the academic year 1993-94 and the college was established as a Christian minority institution. The college has earned permanent recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education and it is affiliated to Sikkim University.

Course Details:

Loyala College of Education is offering Bachelor of Education course and the duration of the course is one year. The college follows semester pattern of education and this course includes two semesters.

Choice of papers offered to the students:

Loyala College of Education offers the subjects like Nepali, Chemistry, Physics, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, History and English as method papers and students will have to choose any two subjects out of the above-mentioned subjects. While making the choice of the subjects, the students are allowed to choose only those subjects that they have studied at the graduation level. Total number of seats available in the college for a method papers is 25 each. In case less than five students opt for a particular subject, the college will not offer that subject and so students will have to select some other subjects.

Eligibility for admission:

Candidates must have completed their graduation in any discipline with not less than 50% of marks from a recognized university for seeking admission to the Loyala College of Education. Relaxation of marks will be given to SC/ST candidates on producing of caste certificate by them. Students must have working knowledge of English and those who are awaiting their results in the qualifying examination need not apply.

Admission Preference:

Admission in Loyala College of Education is open to all students irrespective of their place of birth, sex, class, creed or caste. However, in the admission process preference will be given to students belonging Sikkim and under-privileged category.

Hostel Facility:

The campus of Loyala College of Education includes two luxurious hostels each one for women and men students with a capacity of 50 students each. There is also a staff residence at the college for teaching and non-teaching members.
