Quaid-E-Millath Government College is one of the prestigious institutions in Chennai and was established in 18th Century itself. In the year 1974, it emerged into a women’s college and since then it has constantly produced many literates to the society. It provides not only educational enlightenment but social empowerment as well.

Mission:

The mission of this institution is to develop learning as the process of self-evaluation and aims in expanding learning as a continuous process to create employment and empowerment to women. This autonomous college is affiliated to University of Madras.

College Campus:

Best known for its sprawling campus, this college remains as a historical monument cherished by the people of the Chennai. This institute holds 30 acres of total area out of which 82,200 sq.ft. is the built up area for class rooms and other facilities and 14,000 sq.ft. is allocated for playground. It has 58 class rooms and 21 laboratories which provide practical training for the students.

Library and Hostel:

The central library holds large volumes of books piled up in racks. It also holds enormous count of journals and periodicals for intensifying the knowledge of the students. The college also provides hostel facility for the women and it can accommodate 100 students in the campus hostel.

Being located in the centre of city, this college is well known for its infrastructure and history. Knowing the demands the administration has now extended shift systems for certain courses for enriching more women population with quality education.
