Annamalai University offers many undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The University also offers undergraduate courses through distance education mode of learning. Annamalai University was the first in India to offer even postgraduate courses through distance learning mode. The Directorate of Distance Education of Annamalai University is approved by the Distance Education Council, Delhi.

Among the many courses offered by the university one course is a three years degree in Computer Applications. The degree is Bachelor of Computer Application. Our age is the age of computers. Network Security is of major concern for IT people all over the globe. Management of Network and its security is an important work of computer manager. So in the third year of the course there is a paper on network security and management. The duration of the exam of the paper is three hours. This 100 marks paper has two sections. Section A consists of 10 questions out of which eight are to be answered. Each question is of 5 marks. Section B has five questions out of which three are to be answered, each question carrying 20 marks.
