Admission to the course in MKU is done on the basis of entrance exam (50 marks) and seminar presentation (50 marks). Entrance test comprise questions from subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Molecular biology.
B.Sc holders in any of the life science streams are eligible for admission in Central University of Kerala. The qualification must be obtained with Biotechnology and Biochemistry as subjects with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent. Five percent relaxation in marks is given for SC/ST candidates. Entrance test conducted for admission consist of two parts. Part A contains a total of 35 questions which must be completed within time duration of 45 minutes. Questions on general awareness, analytical ability, reasoning, and English language are asked for the session. In part B, there will be 65 multiple choice questions that should be completed within time duration of 70 minutes. Questions are asked from the following topics.
