Fee Structure of MTech
Masters of Technology or M. Tech is a popular course especially for graduate engineers who want to specialize in their field. M. Tech is pursued by students who want to make their career in engineering and technology, and want to further their career in Research and Developments sector. There are various institutes in the country providing the course; we will discuss the fees structure of few premier institutes of the country.
Indian Institutes of Technology: In order to study M. Tech in any of the Indian Institutes of Technology, better known as the IITs, you will require to shell out around Rs. 11,270 if you are a Day scholar and Rs. 7950 if you are a boarder. The fee for hostel is charged extra from Boarders. Incentives in the form of scholarships are also provided to students, and also there is a provision for earning stipend amount monthly, by teaching students on the campus, so you can earn the amount you invest to study out there.
Vellore Institute of Technology: For studying M. Tech in Vellore Institute of Technology, you will have to pay the following fees:
Tuition Fee is payable as Rs. 69,000 per annum, along with an admission fee payable one time as Rs. 10,000, the Special Fee which includes the examination fee, library fee, and other miscellaneous expenses, is Rs. 10,000, and a refundable Caution Deposit of Rs. 3,000 is also payable at the time of admission. From the next year onwards only the Tuition fee is payable. The provision for incentives is present here as well, and stipend can be earned by teaching undergraduate students in the campus, but for that there is a separate selection procedures, and it’s subject to ruling by the university.
Since the amount of fee invested can be earned by the students, so there is no problem in pursuing M. Tech as a specialization after the graduation, since it entirely then becomes a self financed course, with a great opportunity to learn, grow, and excel.
